Maybe. But it doesn't make recruiting any easier when the team can't be competitive at all after you get a guy to commit.

I could have the best car salesman in the world, but if the muffler falls off on my way down the street from the lot, I'm turning around and dumping it.
Then you wouldn't be the best salesman in the world.

Look, I haven't been whining but, whatever is the problem, I can assure you that your shtick is not the solution.
Yeah, but look at it from his point of view. No one in the history of Gopherhole has ever been more wrong for a longer period of time. We've all swung and missed but very few wretched souls have ever failed like Menno. He was clearly a fragile shell of a man before this so I'd expect this schtick to last a really long time. You'd have to imagine someone like him isn't really getting much reprieve when he steps away from the computer. With a reality like that facing him, I guess I don't blame him for not wanting to leave his hissy fit. It's comforting for him.

A feel Good moment. 🥰
As depressing as it may seem, maybe it comes back to work in our favor after he doesn’t light it up the first season as a developing big. He takes their money, but it magically dries up (since they realize they overpaid). Then he can come back and be the Center with Payne that we are asking for currently! Ok maybe I’m crazy, but it’s fun.

OMG---if Thiam would've stayed the Gopherhole would've imploded.....literally burst into flames. It was widely regarded that he was one of the worst signings EVER. Glad to see he had a good year, but he literally couldn't dribble the basketball when he got on the court.
I'm still shocked he couldn't dribble, every time he got on the court it was so bad.

LOL, This is great. The whiners can't take their own whining.
People are looking in the mirror and not finding their whining to be all that great.
I think I will continue this charade of faux misery until the whiners see just how awful it is.
Thanks for noticing, alphabet soup.
No one looks into the mirror and sees you.

You're having a hissy fit.

He got very few minutes here. My guess is he was a little too hyped up/nervous when he got in. Obviously, he can dribble and shoot but he was unable to do either very well here. With the same sized basket and basketball this year he averaged over 13 ppg and shot 35% on 3s. He is an athlete, super quick, but he wasn't ready at this level yet. I do wish we would have kept him, despite what others here think, players do develop. I'm not saying he would have helped much this year but this is a team that could have used some quickness on defense.

It pains you to see yourself mimicked! 😅

It looks like you've started to shake off that hissy fit. That was a log one pal. Now we are just back to your normal idiocy. For the sake of your mental health, we will all try not to remind you how no one in the history of Gopherhole has ever been wrong for long or more enthusiastically.

I'm showing you...you! 😅
No, you were having a massive hissy fit. Also, you need to learn how emojis work, that emoji doesn't mean what you think it means. So again, you're keeping your streak of being constantly and enthusiastically incorrect with everything you do.

I think the program could be good with the right coach. You think the program is so awful that it's acceptable to have a coach who is historically bad. You're MUCH closer to "fold up the program" than anyone on this board.

The indigenous peoples shut down the pipeline! There is no more anything. It's all over. Burn down the Barn. It's beyond hope. The apocalypse is now! 😱😏

Was a young Doors fan and liked this song before the movie, but seeing the movie and how it was used brought the song completey to life for me. Doors become (and remain) my favorite band that day in the theater.

You saw yourself in the mirror. Did you like it?

More are rumored to leave? Tell me what this is about. Rumored by who?

Evans still likes Ben. Sounds like it's about the Benjamins and not the Ben to me. I don't know Henley's reason- yet. Ben should have kept Thiam who went into the portal- he was wild as can be but athletic.

Thiam, Henley, Evans gone
Betts, Payne, Carrington, JOJ, Christie. all still on board

That's 3 of 8- not half. This may be the reality of the transfer portals. Or it may be that Ben is not trusted. Anybody's guess.
player transferring says to coach: "It's me, it's not you."
player transferring says to everyone else: "It's them."

If you were my mirror, I'd have already eaten a bullet.

The point you're pretending to make to cope with your hissy fit is as illogical as anything you've ever typed on Gopherhole and again, that's impressive because no one in the history of this website has ever been wrong for longer than you have.

I want us to move on from our current coach because I don't think it's hopeless. I think it's possible to win at the U. If I thought it was hopeless, why would I care? Why would historically awful seasons bother me?

Modern athletics recruiting would beg to differ. Sadly you also need re-recruit every player each year with the portal now too.
The head coach has to retain players. We were talking about a specific asst coach/recruiter who has little control over future events.

Most great salesmen are part of an organization. Their job is sell and close. They do not control the entire organization.
Of course, but if your sales aren't sticky enough to get off the lot, it was never really a sale. Almost every sales job on the planet would require any commissions to be clawed back on those kinds of sales. He/she would go broke. Great sales people don't go broke.

If I am a used car salesman and I lie to everyone and sell something that isn't there and the people return the cars the second they get off the lot, that salesperson is, by definition, a worse sales person than the one that is realistic about their expectations and makes the sticky sale.

So you have a gut full of lead. That explains your chronic mood.
