‘Slap in the Face’ Motivates Gophers New QB Drake Lindsey

I can't follow this. Wouldn't it be easier to think about being the starter if the team enticing you with NIL has the question mark players? If I were him and was looking to leave and Arkansas needed a QB, I'd consider that better than tOSU, etc where you know there's going to be redshirt freshmen and true freshmen that were top ranked recruits to compete with.

A team like OSU is unlikely to be rolling out the red carpet for a backup in NIL free agency. That's what we're discussing here. A hypothetical where Lindsey is good to the point where other teams try to buy him away.

This is kinda cool.

Larry Fitzgerald used to workout in MN during the summer and he would bring NFL guys in to the Gophers facility to work on their craft. Some Gopher players like Eric Decker and others would get involved, awesome opportunity to work with the best in the business.

Glad to hear Drake is taking advantage of an opportunity like this. Can only help him being around NFL guys and seeing how they carry themselves.

Drake looks huge in these videos. Absolute unit of a QB.
I thought the exact same thing when I watched the video… If you had to guess which was the NFL quarterback and which was the gopher quarterback based on physical appearance, I think you’d have Drake and JJ switched around.

Yeah there is zero doubt that Drake looks the part. Going to be very interesting to see how he looks when the lights are on and the pressure amps up. Hopefully he has learned a ton from Brosmer and others and is ready to hit the ground running.

There will almost certainly be plenty of ups and downs for him next year but with some luck the ups will be far more prevalent than the downs and he will be ready to lead the team.

If he can avoid the "rookie" mistakes that young players make that will be awesome. Take care of the football and let the skill guys do their thing.
