Is 18-point spread against Buffalo too much? BMTS video

Maybe the 4th school is a charm. https://ubbulls.com/sports/football/roster/taquan-roberson/8446

Maybe. I was at the game and UNLV gave up 555 yards. My wife wants the fire the DC and maybe the entire D staff https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/gametracker/boxscore/NCAAF_20250823_IDST@UNLV/

So do I. Jim Laehey at the mic saying in his sort of monotone voice, "And that is a, touch...down." Those were the days.

    All Things Fall Camp 2025

Really liked seeing receivers and DB's going after the ball. They all appear to have the attitude that when the ball is in the air, it's theirs.

The 2025 Gophers football season will be a sucsss if?…

I also think that 8-4 would be successful. But it we somehow start out 8-0, I would be very frustrated with 8-4.

Was there an open practice last night?

I wish that more practices were open. When John Robinson was at UNLV all practices were open (but they were not very good either). The attachment says that a typical college football game has between 120 and 150 plays. Fleck must think that if opens practices he might give opponents an advantage...

Minnesota's Deven Eastern embracing leadership role ahead of final season

I hope so too. It would be a huge bonus if they could generate a consistent pass rush.

All Things 2025 College Football D2 and D3 Thread

Central was very good in football in the 1970's. One of their alum, Vern DenHerder, played for the Miami Dolphins during at least some of their glory years. I believe that all colleges are battling the "demographic cliff" to maintain enrollments, especially small ones. I read somewhere that...

ANNUAL GOPHERHOLE PICTORIAL COUNTDOWN TO GOPHERS SEASON OPENER!!

Notice how Carter keeps his balance on the 2nd one. I would never have been in position to make the recovery, let alone keep his feet and get into the end zone. I would have been flat on my face "if" I had ever made such a recovery.

Gophers quarterback Drake Lindsey shows off big arm in practices - Pioneer Press

Attached is clip from the athletic dept about the first week of practice. Please help me understand coaching in the 2020's a little better. The coaches are constantly speaking into cell phones or walkie talkies. Who are they talking to? My guess is other coaches. But it could also be to players...

How often do college football players actually transfer? Here’s what the data tells us

Doesn't surprise me about the QB's. If the coaches sour on a QB there isn't much of a chance that they will ever see the field. The coaches are looking for the next guy who will be a future starter at that point.

Agree. I'm glad that Howard Griffith was able to explain those "situational situations."

Having trouble sleeping at night? Just watch this. (Luke Fickell addressing team)

I don't have a big problem with what he said. He is not a gifted orator, obviously. Like others have written, that speech a part of coaching, but if he wins (big), which he has not, it will not matter. I understand that Wacker could give pep talks with the best of them, and that didn't work...
