    Transfer Portal

She is a grad transfer and thus has an Ivy degree under her belt. Also, she went to Duke for two years prior to Columbia, so she definitely has her academic priorities straight! The Ivy League doesn’t allow student-athletes to be enrolled in a graduate program (one of their many antiquated...

    NCAA Tournament 2022-23

Oh Clark definitely dishes it out and has to be able to take it, but to be fair I’ve never seen her follow an opponent around and try to get a reaction

    NCAA Tournament 2022-23

I just want to say this: no matter how you feel about either team, Angel Reese trying to get up in Caitlin’s face with the “ring me” taunt before the final buzzer was a little much.

    NCAA Tournament 2022-23

Megan* Gustafson I think it’s the same trend we’re seeing on the men’s side; there isn’t really a place for your traditional center at the next level. The modern game is definitely geared for a long slasher/positionless kind of forward.

    NCAA Tournament 2022-23

I’m at the game and the refs have gotten themselves into a game of make-up calls. Wildly inconsistent in how they’re calling hand checking, IMO. In other news, LSU shooting ~75% from 3. 101 total first half points.

    Grace Grocholski Commits to Gophers!

I wonder if this means Rachel will be staying on the staff! In the role created for her under Whalen. I think it’s great for the players to have her around.

    NCAA Tournament 2022-23

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but Clark has said she would consider taking a fifth year. It’s hard to imagine that would be the case pre-NIL (even though she claims NIL won’t play a big role in her decision)...

    NCAA Tournament 2022-23

As gifted as she is, Angel Reese’s attitude when she’s not playing well is nauseating. Her team up 6 on Miami with 1:55 left in Q2, but clearly in her own head.

    Borowicz?

Yes, her scholarship will be honored. Hope she can stay involved with the program somehow!

    Borowicz?

For what it’s worth, I really enjoyed having Katie B as a teammate! Compared to Lindsay’s first recruiting class, she was a breath of fresh air: competitive, positive, vocal (in a good way), TOUGH kid. Sometimes she could get a little out of control but was receptive to feedback as far as I...

BREAKING: Mark Coyle and Lindsay Whalen announced today that Whalen will step down as head coach, effective immediately.

Unfortunately, I read GH as a player (Coach told me not to but I couldn't resist, ha). At times some of the board's speculations provided a good laugh (like you said, perspective is everything), but at other times it was pretty brutal — makes me think I played against a few of your daughters'...

    Mark Coyle Presser 3-2-23

Not a good look for Coyle here. To be fair, pretty much nothing he does is a good look.

When does the seat become hot?

As a former player I 100% agree with these points! Hindsight 20/20.

    Coaches to Watch

I 100% agree with your pick of Meg Griffith. Coached at Princeton under Courtney Banghart (now head coach at UNC) and turned Columbia from Ivy bottom-feeder to a tournament team remarkably quickly. Good at recruiting and building a strong culture.

BREAKING: Mark Coyle and Lindsay Whalen announced today that Whalen will step down as head coach, effective immediately.

As a player under Coach Whay, this makes me sad. I know the “experiment” didn’t pan out the way we all wanted, but she is by far the best coach I ever had in terms of how she treated her players. As someone who saw the aftershock of the Pitts fiasco (which *finally* ended with last season’s mass...
