Gophers at NIL disadvantage? Huskers, Iowa to benefit?

I think what will end up happening (in regards to how this will affect recruiting) is something similar to a slush fund. A business will agree to "sponsor" XX amount of dollars to an incoming recruiting class as a whole. They won't necessarily put every recruit on to a promotion, but will agree...

Northwestern, Nebraska Will Play in Ireland to Open 2022 Season

Funny you mention the concert. I live in Omaha and listen to their ESPN radio channel. There are talks of trying to get concerts integrated into the games. Pre-game, halftime or post game as a way to get students reinvigorated in the program. There are some rumblings they're scared that the...

    Spring Practice: Speculation, Observation, Rumination

In regards to transfers, you have to remember.... it's not everyone's expectation or dream to play in the NFL. Some of these kids just love being part of the team and see it as a means to an end via fully or partially paid tuition at a great university in a city full of great companies. All the...

    Gopher Pro-Day

    — Concordia-St. Paul defensive lineman Chris Garrett of Milwaukee. The 6-foot-5, 245-pound player had 36.5 sacks and a Division II record 15 career forced fumbles in only 28 games. The 22-year-old was invited to the East-West Shrine game but it was canceled in 2021. — St. John’s quarterback...

Clemson all-ACC cornerback Derion Kendrick no longer with Tigers

I'm reading he was a late 1st rd to early rd 2 grade in this draft before deciding to stay. I wonder if he'll really try to return to college or if he'll just petition to enter the supplemental draft since the regular draft passed before he was dismissed.

Superbowl thread with focus on former Gophers Johnson, Winfield Jr, and Wilson

Rowing the boat in his endzone celebration!!!! Wish they would've shown the whole thing instead of the damn penalty call.

Official 2021 Gophers Football Recruiting Updates Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos etc

I can't remember where I heard it... whether it was on here, TGR or on ESPN 590 Omaha.... but I remember hearing Dickerson is starting to reopen communications with Nebby and it might be HIM reaching out to learn more. Some outside speculation his best friend Koby Bretz is in his ear. Should we...

I mostly agree that everything is just so political these days. Just wish it didn't always have to be viewed or attributed to that lens. People should just be able to think differently from others without it being attributed to politics. I appreciate the civil back and forth!

All Things COVID-19 College Football Impact

I'm all for diversity in every aspect of life. How individual companies spend their money is their prerogative. If they think it will help their business, more power to them. There will always be backlash from someone. If that backlash turns out to be enough to hurt the bottom line more than...

Shooter: Tony Dungy, 64, will replace Doug Flutie as home-game analyst for Notre Dame football this season.

I love Dungy, but I don't think he has the right voice/energy to be an analyst that does anything more than chime in once or twice a quarter. If he's doing play by play..... those games will be rough to listen to.

All Things COVID-19 College Football Impact

My question was do you think that the B10 & Pac12 potentially lost hundreds of millions of dollars because they wanted to show how much they hated Trump and wanted to blame him? I understand the governor data you put out and it would be easy to see the correlation. But correlation does not...

Anyone else find themselves more crabby about the season with other games starting up?

I posted this in another thread.... but I thought I'd be happy watching CFB again. I've watched almost every game. Seeing a lot of games with fans.... just seeing games.... it's made it 100x worse. I feel even more empty than I did when they postponed the season.

All Things COVID-19 College Football Impact

When some of you say that this is all political what exactly do you mean? Are you saying the decision makers in the Big10 and Pac12 are postponing the season because they hate Trump and want to blame the schools losing potentially hundreds of millions of dollars on him? I'm genuinely confused...
