Time to Own Up: How did my bold predictions for Gophers football go?

I drank the kool aide and believed the hype but ... Kaliakmanis never delivered like I expected, Brockington got hurt, the LBs were a weak link, and , blah, blah, blah. so in my delusion that it was 2019 again, I said 11-1. So it goes.

So what exactly is this team?

This team has a big heart and is growing in so many ways. Let's say Sweet 16, maybe elite 8 if it makes free throws!

Can the Gophers find success in the new Big Ten?

If you have a winning record in the new big ten that's a great season. Next year we play iowa, michigan, SC, UCLA to open Big play and close w Penn state and Wisconsin. Nothing easy on that schedule.

    Sieh Bangura--RB

Love to see a gopher RB catch a swing pass out of backfield and beat a LB 1v1 for big yards. Maybe this guy can do it where Tyler couldn't a year ago.

What will be really maddening is watching those west coast offenses against our defense! We will need Winfield/Nubian type athletes in the secondary going forward to havE a chance of slowing those offenses.

Official 2024 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

When these kids/young men accept scholarships from The U, are they guaranteed four-year scholarships, or are they one-year scholarships renewed annually for four years? Apparently these scholarships are renewed annually so some of the player movement is players looking for better or new...

    Time to ditch the RPO!

I was having visions of Billy Sims the other day and thinking he was the greatest RB I ever saw in person. And then Somewhere on GH someone made the brilliant suggestion of just running the TRIPLE OPTION. I completely agree. Dump the RPO and invest in linemen and great running backs and turn...

    Quarterback

To me AK looks good in the first half of games, and then morphs into something else (inefficient, uncomfortable, unconfident, indecisive - pick one) in the second half. Why is that? Is it him, the team around him, the play call? I think there's a good player there, but this was a wasted season...

Fleck: There's a new era of college football, and we've got to continue to find creative ways to gain depth, keep depth, maintain depth, retain depth

How about teams accepting players through transfer portal lose a half scholarship,. This might bring about some stability.

SI: Gophers' PJ Fleck: Without NIL money, we can't keep team intact

Everyone pays players now, it's just a question of how much. And what fleck is saying that without NIL, we are going to lose players. I would bet my NIL contribution right now that darius Taylor transfers after the season, and maybe our top defensive backs. And for the record, my NIL...

Shama: Voices Need to Speak up for College Football Parity

There's plenty of good observations and ideas and potential solutions that have been expressed, so I wanted to throw another thought on the table regarding the need for parity or compatible balance in an new age of NIL and automatic transfer, and that is ... We're in the entertainment business...

Shama: Voices Need to Speak up for College Football Parity

the new tv contract means we are stuck w Michigan and Ohio State for the near future. But I would be happy if Michigan and Ohio State left the big ten. Then we could reconstitute it around the remaining teams

SI: Gophers' PJ Fleck: Without NIL money, we can't keep team intact

How about assessing a fee on transfers w a portion of fee going back to the school that developed the player, and a smaller percentage going to the conference. the fee is based upon the amount of NIL money given to the transferring player.
