I asked an Eastern Michigan reporter six questions.

The Emus could be tough. WE better be ready!

***OFFICIAL NEBRASKA AT MINNESOTA SEASON OPENING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Bryce Williams did a great job pass-blocking. It gives the play away when he's in, but he picks up the block. We'll be watching him at that all season.

Post Game Thread: Gophers With AMAZING Comeback Win!!!

Cal Stoll used to always say that by the third week, you had your offensive line, so I'm not worried about that. They should be solid in time. The defense played a great game. Remember, everything NU showed us was new, so we were gonna give up some plays. AK had a rough go of it, and while not...

What grade would you give Athan Kaliakmanis in his season opening start vs Nebraska?

He struggled against, frankly, a Nebraska defense that is probably pretty good. It was opening day with a bunch of new faces. As long as we get the W, it was almost the best kind of W you want- one where he struggled, got a lot of bugs out (hopefully), and learned from it

Good Article on Nebraska’s 3-3-5 Defense

I vote for asking our huge O-line to just plow through them until they stop us.

    PAC 12 Dissolution

The PAC-4 just hired Oliver Luck as a consultant to figure out what the next steps should be. This is a solid hire. I know Oliver, and he's an outside-the-box thinker. Nobody is saying now that the league will survive and grow for certain, but their chances went up definitely- they are not zero.

All Things D2 and D3 College Football 2023 Season Thread

Let's see how St. Thomas does against Harvard, a consistent first-division Ivy team. We can learn a bit from that one game. Its important not to look at Ivies as typical non-schollies since they opened up their endowments to help fund tuition, placing many on "de facto" scholarship. It has had a...

Alabama's Nick Saban irked by 2022 College Football Playoff omission: 'Do you really get the best teams?'

Note to Coach Saban: The best teams don't always get in. You have to EARN your way in.

USC-Minnesota football series is improbably insignificant

First years of a coaching tenure are always gonna be questionable. I do think that some of the bad records that coaches experience in those first years are somewhat self-inflicted as they completely change systems, personnel, etc (or in Brewster's case, he just thought he "knew it all").

8,699 NCAA football players entered the portal between Aug. 1, 2022, and May 1, 2023

Well...perhaps the time is coming where CFB as we have had it is now outgrowing the college relationship. Perhaps the NFL needs to start chipping in for its own minor league, and leave the colleges to produce their teams from their students like they once did. Put the "college" back in college...

    Fleck Effect

The MAC has always been a hotbed for finding new coaches. Many of the greatest coaches in the game coached there. That would be my first look.

UNC’s Mack Brown on College Football’s Current Model: ‘We’re the NFL’

And here's what will happen. College football will never "out-NFL the NFL". It will lose, and come in a distant second because that's the contest CFB chose. The sport forgot what got CFB where it is, what made it unique. The NFL would never be able to "out-CFB CFB". Now, CFB has just forfeited.

If Rutgers left the B1G, who would you like to see replace them?

Rutgers will never leave the money this conference provides, as well as the academic consortium. These are what makes the league so attractive and almost impossible to leave. Chicago, I believe, is still a member....they just don't participate in the athletics part of it. They are D3 in sports...
