Orr was my favorite player on that team. Probably because I knew I wanted to be a point guard by that time and my favorite team was obviously the Gophers. In the driveway though, I was always Penny Hardaway… 😁

Unfortunately you might as well get used to it. St Thomas fans are going to continue to bombard this site with the same old narrative that the Gophers are too scared to play them until it actually happens. Expect 10+ threads a year on this topic for the foreseeable future.

1) Who cares about the starting lineup right now? Payne played 31 minutes last night and Christie played 27. That's what you should worry about. This obsession over the starting lineup is weird on this site. Minutes and who ends the game is what matters. 2) Refs are not out to get the Gophers...

I was very impressed with Marquette yesterday. What a well-oiled machine. They did not let up once all game on the defensive ended. I was wondering if last year was a flash in the pan with this specific group of players. Sneaking up on the Big East is one thing, but doing it again the next year...

I agree that San Francisco won't mean much on our resume, but Boise St is a projected NCAA tournament team and Grand Canyon was the preseason pick to win the WAC. Both are very solid teams.

At this point, the Big Ten needs Purdue to beat Gonzaga in the 1st round and go a minimum of 2-1 at Maui. The league needs wins pretty badly against power conferences teams.

Valid point, but the ACC was historically bad last year. The MW even finished above them at the end of the year. I said this awhile ago on the schedule thread, but this schedule hurts the postseason chances of this team significantly. Not saying I predict this team will go to the NCAA...

I agree. He wasn't being aggressive going after rebounds and kept trying to put the ball on the floor where it was getting tipped or stolen. Frustrating game for Payne.
