I suspect that he'll get up to 230 or so for his final HS season but it'll take a couple of years in the weight program to get big enough for the Big Ten. I willing to bet neither Iowa school wanted to wait and develop him.
That's what I can see, Athan needs to be quicker, in recognizing his opportunities to make plays with his feet. I think that he's quick enough get the quick 5 to 10 yards when contain breaks down. Forcing defenses to accout for him will just make the rest of the offense more efficient.
Against Wisconsin and before he got hurt against Syracuse, AK was starting to show quick descion making going through his progressions. If he can be more decisive in deciding to run, he could put pressure on defenses, similar to the way Daniel Jones does.
Watching the Vikings Giants game yesterday, I couldn't help but see that Athan, has a similar skill set to Daniel Jones. If Athan, becomes quicker and more decisive in his reads, I could see him having a similar game to Jones.
It seems that Coach Fleck likes to fill open coaching positions at the AFCA convention and annouce them shortly afterwards. This years convention wraps up tomorrow the 10th. I would expect some annoucements by the end of the week.
Fleck has talked about bringing Tanner Morgan on to his staff. I could see Simon getting the OC job and Tanner being a Grad Assistant with responsibility for QB's.
The service academy prep schools work differently than regular prep schools. You incur a six year Statutory Military Obligation attending an acadamy prep school, if you don't make it, you serve three years active and 3 years inactive reserve.

I would be concerned if he went to Wisconsin
Targeting Fickell is one thing, getting him is another, Fickell has very deep roots in Ohio, getting him to leave for an uncertain situation will be difficult.
