East vs. West: Predicting every B1G team's crossover record (Minnesota (2-0))

What do you mean? It was as recent as 1977 that we beat Michigan at home. Still one of the best games I've seen in person. As much fun as Penn State last year!

Ohio State QB Justin Fields starts petition to relaunch Big Ten season

I remain skeptical that anyone, including the SEC, ACC or the Big 12 play football this Fall. The locations of those conferences have higher rates of infections, hospitalizations and deaths than the rest of the Country.

Penn St. announces no fans will be in attendance for fall sports

The Big Ten should have a uniform policy in place. would not be fair if fans are allowed some places and not others. Since the Courts and legislature in Wisconsin fight any type of Covid restrictions I can see full houses in Madison.

Big Ten Football Schedule Released (Gophers open with Michigan State)

Any word about attending games? I see the scheduling notice but nothing about whether the games will take place in front of spectators.

Former Gopher WR Jared Ellerson named AD at Richfield High School

As a former Spartan I wish him well. Richfield was a bit of a powerhouse in the 70's when I was there; one of the biggest high schools in the State. Those days are long gone. It was fun playing football on Friday Nights at Spartan Stadium. Former Gopher and NFLer Steve Stewart was a teammate.

Found this little guy at an antique shop in Bemidji

I remember buying peanuts in a jar like that. They used the "retro" look with the gopher. Fisher was selling peanuts; they weren't concerned about the size of the beer stein.

CBS: Who's on the cusp of emerging as the next 'it' coach in college football? (Tom Fornelli: P.J. Fleck, Minnesota)

If PJ starts winning division and conference championships, Minnesota will be a "bigger job." Can't get much bigger than Big Ten champ!

Kill addresses previous comments on Fleck: "I said my piece and that was it. I moved on...I said what I said and move on in life."

I haven't heard any talk about naming the field after Kill. If naming the field after anyone is even being considered, how about naming it after someone who has won something? Bierman, Warmath, Bruce Smith, Bronco?

What is your, "I remember exactly where I was" Gopher Football Moment?

Being at this game was great. Pouring into Stub and Herbs after the game and watching Scott LeDoux boxing Leon Spinks on the "CBS Sports Spectacular" completes the memory. 1977 was a time when you were lucky to get more than one college football game on TV each Saturday and there were not other...

STrib: Coach Lou Holtz was building Gophers into a football power. What if he never left?

Agreed. His act would have also worn out its welcome just like it did with Arkansas, NYJets, ESPN and just about everywhere else he surfaced. His bailing out on Minnesota has helped his myth continue here.

CFN’s NFL Draft Wide Receiver Rankings: Tyler Johnson #15

Article lists 15 receivers and Johnson is #15. Five others are from the SEC, 2 from Alabama and 1 each from LSU, Florida and South Carolina. Did any of them have a better game against the vaunted Auburn defense than Tyler Johnson? I doubt it.

Dr. Fauci says no more handshaking. That reminded me of some of my favorite B1G moments involving the silly tradition (Fleck and Brohm keep it brief)

Don't have the video but the best post game handshake was the Pete Carroll-USC and Jim Harbaugh-Stanford, "what's your deal?" encounter.

Andy Staples on PJ Fleck’s future: Go to a “blueblood” or stay at Minnesota?

Nice to see a national writer that considers Minnesota a final destination and not a pass through.

Away games to visit in 2020

Son is U of M grad and avid Gopher fan. Lives and works in Baltimore. Planning to see Gophers and the turtle for a first road game experience!

ESPN: Wide Receiver tiers in the draft

4 Big 10 receivers but not an all Big10 receiver. They'll probably minimize Bateman's abilities when he comes out as well.

    Mark Dantonio retiring

There will be another shoe to drop. He had a great run but he sure seemed miserable the last couple of years. Seems like the entire athletic department is a bit of a slime pit. I wonder if Izzo is looking at his options?

    B1G bowl affiliations for ‘20-‘21

I recall hearing this year that the #1 seed gets to choose which Semifinal game they go to, which explains LSU in Atlanta and Clemson/Ohio State in Phoenix. It also explains the 2014 results with Alabama being in NOLA and Ohio State left out of the Rose Bowl.

    The dust has settled

You Have to remember that on Jan1 ABC/ESPN aired 4 games. The Outback Bowl had to have crew number 4. Letting the quality of the announce team affect your enjoyment of the game is silly. They could have used the Aggievision crew and it would not have ruined that game for me. The finale of an 11...

Tanner Morgan 10/1 odds to win the Heisman

Big 10 players are longshots in any event. Notwithstanding last nights results, Trevor Lawrence will be the odds on favorite. Would love it if the Gopher's season is strong enough that Morgan is in the conversation.
