Not surprised whatsoever. These guys are playing TOO MUCH BASKETBALL. Summers should be reserved for shooting, some ball handling, and cross training away from non-slip surfaces. These are devastating injuries; potentially career ending. Best of luck to Isaiah.
The player rotations (non-rotations) is the one red flag from the season. This indicates a lack of trust; lack of player development; and stubbornness. Surely playing only five or six guys did not give the team its best chance to win last night or probably during the season. A big thank you to...
Of course they can make the tournament. Marginal talent; slow pace; good defense; low turnovers? Now what historically successful B1G team does that remind me of? Oh yeah, those guys.
They looked nonchalant and played a little entitled IMO. The hot start may have gone to their collective heads or they were hungover from the MI win. Hard to say, but the sloppy play has got to stop.
Based on the visage and body language of Coach Johnson, I suspect the Gophers will be running some extra wind sprints in practice tomorrow if not after the game tonight. He was particularly furious at the newbs who closed out the game (or didnt close out the game).
Just enjoying what I've seen so far. Of course the losses will come, and likely even pile up. The sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts this year and its been a long time since I've been able to say that about Gopher basketball.
Is there any bigger indictment of Pitino's recruiting sensibilities than the failure to recruit Jamison Battle? Unbelievable he was not offered. This years team would give last years team all it wanted on the court and then some.
I think Amir is kind of a part of the Clippers Core now, so I hope he sticks with them. He's a legit NBA player who works his tail off.
Unfortunately I doubt Oturu will have the same luck, despite being a college stud too.
I dont see the same physical potential for Holmgren. Giannis has cables for muscles and Holmgren looks like assembled match sticks. Skilled and tall to be sure, but he'll get abused in the NBA.
More back cuts in this game than in the past two years under Pitino. His offensive motions had become to rigid and predictable. Really liked what I saw in the highlights.
"Masks do nothing and people are done with this nonsense". I think I've heard this before... Anyhow, I wonder what the plan is for seating/masking when the actual games begin. I could care less either way but I'm sure some people will stay away if masks are required (and vice versa).
