Isaiah Ihnen has suffered another season-ending knee injury, the U said Monday.

Not surprised whatsoever. These guys are playing TOO MUCH BASKETBALL. Summers should be reserved for shooting, some ball handling, and cross training away from non-slip surfaces. These are devastating injuries; potentially career ending. Best of luck to Isaiah.

Former Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber found dead in his apartment by Frisco police

I hope MBIII's brain is tested for CTE. Young men destroying their brains and futures for our entertainment.

Biggest disappointment of this season became evident tonight

The player rotations (non-rotations) is the one red flag from the season. This indicates a lack of trust; lack of player development; and stubbornness. Surely playing only five or six guys did not give the team its best chance to win last night or probably during the season. A big thank you to...

Wish we had him one more year. No lie.

ESPN: Why are men's college basketball's most surprising teams winning in 2021-22? (MN: The Gophers control tempo, they take care of the ball)

Of course they can make the tournament. Marginal talent; slow pace; good defense; low turnovers? Now what historically successful B1G team does that remind me of? Oh yeah, those guys.

The Athletic article on Ben Johnson and the Gophers

The Athletic has the best sports journalists in the business.

Gophers make history winning with -22 turnover battle

They looked nonchalant and played a little entitled IMO. The hot start may have gone to their collective heads or they were hungover from the MI win. Hard to say, but the sloppy play has got to stop.

Gophers make history winning with -22 turnover battle

Based on the visage and body language of Coach Johnson, I suspect the Gophers will be running some extra wind sprints in practice tomorrow if not after the game tonight. He was particularly furious at the newbs who closed out the game (or didnt close out the game).

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN IN-GAME THREAD TWAS NIGHT BEFORE XMAS THEME!!!***

What a bizarre box score. Two assists. Four turnovers. Our PG did not have an assist, yet we won.

12/6 polls: 7 votes from coaches, 0 from AP

Just enjoying what I've seen so far. Of course the losses will come, and likely even pile up. The sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts this year and its been a long time since I've been able to say that about Gopher basketball.

Kozlo: Michigan State football should be realigned to Big Ten West

LOL MSU. How soon they forget. I think we are all better off with MSU and PSU (i.e. the institutional OFFENDERS), in the same division).

Gophers' Jamison Battle proving to be among Big Ten's top scorers but wants to be the 'total package'

Is there any bigger indictment of Pitino's recruiting sensibilities than the failure to recruit Jamison Battle? Unbelievable he was not offered. This years team would give last years team all it wanted on the court and then some.

    Princeton

Beating Princeton on a neutral court in the manner we beat them is a good win. Got to enjoy them all this year.

    Amir Coffey getting more PT

I think Amir is kind of a part of the Clippers Core now, so I hope he sticks with them. He's a legit NBA player who works his tail off. Unfortunately I doubt Oturu will have the same luck, despite being a college stud too.

    Holmgren vs Texas

I dont see the same physical potential for Holmgren. Giannis has cables for muscles and Holmgren looks like assembled match sticks. Skilled and tall to be sure, but he'll get abused in the NBA.

    Holmgren vs Texas

The next Giannis? Wow, that seems like a monumental stretch.

***OFFICIAL UMKC AT MINNESOTA BEN JOHNSON DEBUT IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

More back cuts in this game than in the past two years under Pitino. His offensive motions had become to rigid and predictable. Really liked what I saw in the highlights.

Nice STrib profile: Ben Johnson makes Gophers men's basketball rebuild a singular focus

It is the type of job where singular focus is not a bad thing. Looking forward to this season understanding its going to be a rough ride.

***Exhibition Gameday Thread - New Look Gophers VS Concordia St.Paul****

"Masks do nothing and people are done with this nonsense". I think I've heard this before... Anyhow, I wonder what the plan is for seating/masking when the actual games begin. I could care less either way but I'm sure some people will stay away if masks are required (and vice versa).
