Congratulations, Jess! Well deserved!
I don't recall Chloe having issues with her teammates. In her farewell message, she mentioned working on her mental health. Several of her teammates wished her well.
Exactly! The athletics director was doing a poor job and was replaced by Pat Richter. He as much as said that she supported the department, stayed out of the way, and let him run the department.
Sorry that a bad year or 2 was all it took to lose you as a fan. Piper did fine handling both last year. One of the issues could be the number of pitchers she is coaching. It is hard to get six pitchers the individual attention they might need.
Unless the athletics director is doing a poor job, the only reason for the president being involved with coaches would be misconduct or rules violations by the coaching staff.
The way to bolster the chances of getting better players from the portal is to donate to Dinkytown Athletics. Without NIL money your chances are slim to none.
Unfortunately, privacy rules prevent the school from making any statement regarding her situation. Unless you can find inside information or the athlete provides the information, we may never know her reasons for leaving the program.
I have no idea why she left the team. Regarding her sitting on the bench, in the Gophers first 12 games, she started in 6 of them and was not lifted in any of them.
