I'd also throw in this -- Simon is going to be more experienced and likely be able to contribute more to game planning etc.
I think Ciarrocca/Simon 2.0 can be better than two years ago.
I like this. I think sometimes you don't realize how good you have it until it's gone.
In Ciarrocca's case that's going to your dream job during a covid year and getting fired without a real opportunity. Some dream. That isn't going to happen here.
Given the number of injuries we see every season, this would not be a good idea. It's not like the NFL where you can go and sign free agents in the middle of the season. Your 85 is all you have.
What is everyone thinking initially? We don't yet know who called the plays the last 3 games. Is that who we want to see?
Bring back Ciarrocca? Maybe we go out of the box and bring in Dan Mullen (not!). Curious to see where everyone stands on this.
This is tough for me. I gave us a "B" -- yet strangely if one additional event (Neb over Iowa) would've transpired I would've awarded our season an A.
My true feeling is B+
I genuinely do think this was the best team PJ has fielded at the U talent wise. I think we were hindered by poor play...
And as it's been pointed out on this forum it's very hard to go to the Rose Bowl. There's no denying that the foundation, the thing most in our control, is very good.
Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way and sometimes it does. Our '19 squad could've easily been 8-4 and this years team...
It's very simple to me -- if you want PJ fired given his record here then what Gophers coach over the last 50 years have you liked? Seriously, I'm curious.
Wish that was the forecast back in '19 when we played. I feared that year the precipitation would be detrimental to our passing attack. This year I'd prefer it snow.
Crazy enough this game is the longest (Vegas) odds of the three things we need to happen this week.
Gophers +7
Purdue -15
Nebraska EVEN
This is controlling your own destiny -- Gopher Style
He's been doing better lately. Still not sure if I'm on board w him but it's tough to blame him for the Iowa loss when we got 400 plus yards.
That said I think there's better options out there. Ciarrocca??
Reality is we have a CHANCE to win the west going into the last week of the year. If a season in which you have a CHANCE to win the west is the most disappointing Gophers Season in your lifetime.... that is frankly ridiculous.
