Gophers Have Won the Axe or Floyd Four Straight Seasons

After watching a bunch of brutal games down at Camp Randall (either blowouts or lost double-digit 4Q leads), winning 3 of the last 4 there is pretty damn good. Interestingly enough, the home team has only won 2 games in the last 8, and 1 of them was behind closed doors in 2020.

Proud of MN and WI players and fans

It was 2011. The fracas wasn't because Badger players were chopping the goal posts. I think it's dumb, but i also understand the concept that to the Victor go the spoils. The fracas started when they ran through the gathered team, staff, and band mid-Hail to chop the post, and knocked down and...

Some delicious facts regarding the big win over Wisconsin

The Gophers have won 3 of their last 4 games at Camp Randall. If you would have told me that 6 years ago I'd have told you you were crazy.

RandBall: An alternate universe where the Gophers are College Football Playoff contenders

Cleaning up the kicking game would do wonders to improve this team.

Buffalo is going to keep growing because that district is massive, and it goes east to areas of Corcoran that the buildup from Maple Grove is finally pushing into.

Vannini: The gap between the best CFB teams and the middle-tier teams hasn't been this small in at least a decade and it makes every week a wild ride.

2007 is exactly the year. Or 2001, where both were true. Miami was heads and shoulders better than everyone else, but the #2 spot changed hands 4 or 5 times between 2:30 pm on Black Friday and the end of Championship Saturday.

Vannini: The gap between the best CFB teams and the middle-tier teams hasn't been this small in at least a decade and it makes every week a wild ride.

This sport is cyclical. Some years, there is a clear gap between the top and the rest. Think 2005, where USC and Texas were well clear of everyone else. Some other years, it's complete chaos. This is one of the latter years.

    "Big 10 Tradition"

It is indeed a Big Ten marching band thing to play the visiting team's fight song during their pregame if the visiting band wasn't present. I've heard the Rouser during band pregames in IC, AA, and Madison (inevitably done out of pace and a step too low, but still played). The year the full Ohio...

Any LA residents on the Hole?

Walking out of the RB after dark towards downtown Pasadena won't be a problem. I did it twice in 2017 after U2 concerts there.

    The Band Pit

That is actually a former Pac-10 thing. All the marching bands sent basketball-sized pep bands to road football games, and occasionally the whole band coming. I know the Oregon full band was booed mercilessly when they did their full pregame and halftime at Husky Stadium in Seattle...

2024 MN High School Football thread

When I was living down there in the late 2010s, there was already discussion about a 4th high school in Rochester. Also, I'm having a hard time believing that the Osseo board will approve the move of MG to the Lake.

Eric Decker, Joel Maturi elected to M Club HOF

Maturi probably should have been cashiered in early 2007 too. Recall that him and Mason were in a contract dispute leading up to the 2005 Music City Bowl, which was ANOTHER pissed-away second half lead. Then the whole Dan Monson fiasco (not sacking him after getting blown out in Cincinnati in...
