Video of Gopher Championship Seasons ?

Not sure if this fits the inquiry, but I somehow got a video copy of the "History of Minnesota Football." The 40 minutes of footage looks at many games through the years, cherry-picking various contests starting in the 1930's. Narrated by Halsey Hall, the last game covered was the Minnesota...

    Gophers vs Badgers

One concern going forward in the B1G championship - and I know Motzko harps on this all the time. A bye the first tourney weekend means another 2 week break from the final regular season game against OSU on Feb 24. Their first B1G tourney game will be against the lowest remaining seed at...

Immediate Commitment from Michigan LB Pretzlaff

Pardon my ignorance - but what does an "immediate" commitment mean?

    Gopher Wins in Conference

Our last win was not that long ago relatively speaking. Won in Columbus in Jan 2020 and did not return for two years (a Jan 2022 loss). However, prior to 2020, the Gophers last BB win at OSU was in Jan 2005.

If Rutgers left the B1G, who would you like to see replace them?

Heard this argument ever since Rutgers joined. And I can certainly see the logic - I would be curious to know how much additional BTN (thus B1G) revenue we are talking about. And yes, there are a lot of B1G alumni in NYC who welcome BTN. But as other people have said, there is very little...

    Bowl Game Projections?

GopherIllustrated (247Sports) just reneged on yesterday's prediction of a Gopher-Miss State matchup in the Outback. They are now on the Pinstripe (Syracuse) bandwagon "based on information received by GopherIllustrated" - "all signs are pointing to the Gophers being headed to New York"

    Bowl Game Projections?

Do not know if it is a change, but Gopher Illustrated (or 247.com) sent out an updated Bowl Projection a little over an hour ago (takes into account the USC debacle) and they now have Gophers vs. Miss State in Outback (ReliaQuest). My biggest fear is that if TCU loses (down 8 with 6 minutes to...

    Gopher Volleyball 2022 Season

OSU has lost four straight matches - at MD, then home against IN, MN, and WI. Not the type of momentum one would like to see heading into the tournament

    Bowl Game Projections?

Aggie Vision - happened 9 years ago and still getting the LOLs. Wonder if any of their announcers realize the legacy provided

    Michele Tafoya

She was co-chair of the Kendall Qualls campaign for Governor. Qualls withdrew from the Republican primary race when Jensen got the official GOP endorsement. She claims she is a “pro-choice conservative with libertarian leanings.” Good luck on winning a GOP primary with those beliefs

    Iowa Game Time

I realize that it is all about TV - but not knowing the start times 7 days in advance does affect stadium attendance.

Neal: Cornhuskers fans living, cheering in Minnesota were happy, for a half, against Gophers

Out of curiosity, I searched the StarTrib archives and found that once we lost to Purdue, the coverage stopped traveling. (No longer "worthy" or "relevant" I guess.) StarTrib beat writer Randy Johnson was in East Lansing, but did the report from afar for Illinois and Nebraska. An AP feed...

Neal: Cornhuskers fans living, cheering in Minnesota were happy, for a half, against Gophers

Saw that the StarTrib did not even send a reporter to the game. (It is disappointing). Did they send anyone to MSU or PSU?

Jim Nantz to call his final NCAA Tournament with Ian Eagle as successor

Let's hope that Duluth, MN native Verne Lundquist can continue to make the call on the Master's par 3 16th for just as long. (Verne fully retired about 5 years ago except for the Master's and PGA championship - always enjoyed his calls in all sports)

Hugh McCutcheon to start in a new Assistant AD / Sport Development Coach role Jan. 2023.

Out of curiosity, I checked out Coyle's staffing. I had no idea the size and scope of his administration - I am all for a strong athletic department, and realize that it takes personnel to run a big time collegiate athletic program (with a budget of $110 mil), but this seems a bit excessive to...

Jim Nantz to call his final NCAA Tournament with Ian Eagle as successor

Not too many 63 year olds retire to spend more time with their 6 and 8 year old kids. If that is true, I wonder if giving up the NFL is far behind. I can see him doing the Masters for another decade (or more) if interested.

    Gopher Volleyball 2022 Season

Top 12 via coaches poll (through 10/23) - first four were scrambled from previous week due to both Texas and Louisville losing for the first time (to Iowa State and Pittsburgh respectively). 1. Nebraska (up 2) 2. Texas (down 1) 3. San Diego (up 1) 4. Louisville (down 2) 5. Wisconsin 6. Ohio...
