All Things "Top 5" Thread (Movies, TV Shows, Cities, Countries, Actors, Beers, Restaurants, Athletes, Sporting Events etc.)

I assume you don't care for hockey. Any hockey fan younger than about 55 has to have Bobby Orr at the top of this list. I would have Jackie Robinson on my list as well

A Gopher wins Reusse's 2020 Turkey of the Year award

Huh? Fenton has been GM for 2 years and one of them was the pandemic year.

All 3 seasons of Broadchurch are excellent. Then move on to Happy Valley. British Crime dramas are superb.

    Dale Hawerchuk- RIP

Dale Hawerchuk passed away yesterday from cancer at the age of 57. Hawerchuk might possibly be one of the all time under-rated players in sports as he played in the wrong markets (Winnipeg AND Buffalo) at the wrong time (in his prime he was stuck in the same division as the Gretzky led...

Souhan: Gophers, conference led by voices of reason and safety, instead of the selfish and greedy

He is "pretty fit" so he gets it. He should have been fired for his comments on Jerry Kill. I still have a hard time believing he wasn't.

All Things 2020 Minnesota Wild Thread

Not this year. Wild have a 12.5% chance of getting #1 pick. Lottery is today. The number 1 pick could be going to a pretty good team this year.

Something You Hate That Everyone Loves

I am one of 5 separate Manitobans that I know of who love Minnesota, spend a fair bit of time in Minneapolis, and who hated, absolutely hated, the State Fair. The Fair appears to have to be something you grew up with to like.

ESPN: Sources - Marlins cancel game as coronavirus spreads

Seems like they need to go to hubs like the NHL and NBA. Perhaps they could do divisional hubs and play solely within divisions.

    Any guitar players?

I have no musical ability so maybe I am wrong but I have long thought One Great City by the Weakerthans wolud be an easy but awesome song for a guy with a guitar.

    Town Ball

Reusse on Twitter (yeah, I follow him- I like his Twitter personality when he is not being a jerk) talks about Town Ball. Anyone go to games? I doubt I will be down in Minnesota for a while but I really like small town Minnesota and may try to take a few games in sometime. Is it good...

    Carl Reiner - RIP

I saw The Jerk when I was 10. I thought it was the funniest movie of all time. I saw it again a few years ago. Still really funny.

Horrific hazing allegations for Canadian junior hockey

Former NHLer Daniel Carcillo alleges horrific hazing as a member of the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League. There have been lots of bad stories of junior hockey hazing (as well as racism against black players) but these allegations take it to a whole new level. Carcillo is a bit of a...

"If I can beat cancer, you can beat Auburn."

It's addressed in the article. Apparently 5 and 6 were close together. He may also not be fully cancer free as they found spots on his lungs.

Yeah, I just read that. I am as cynical as they come and I have really started to believe in the goodness of PJ Fleck.

Another amazing thing? Terry Jackson had 1372 yards in 2002 and couldn't get on the field in 2003.
