Do the Gophers need a new PG?

Gophers need a lot of things.

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Doing it right (mostly through recruiting talent and character) takes time. CBJ is a young guy and his inexperience is definitely contributing to some Ls, but five years is nothing if the end result is long-term success. They will be just fine if people are patient.

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Who cares how bad they are in Year 2 of a total rebuild . All that matters is how good a BJ-coached team can be in 3-6 years. I think they will be good; maybe very good.

***OFFICIAL IOWA AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Encouraged by the game today despite running out of steam. Wish they could have taken the lead there late in the first half but they battled hard. Payne is an immovable force in the low post thats for sure. Really excited to see him develop. Ditto JOJ. Really hope they can get at least one...

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Whalen, yes; CBJ, No. When you sign a new coach you need to show full commitment to his/her program less than four years (unless there are code of conduct violations or things of that nature). If, after four years, there is no clear trajectory, its reasonable to move on. A program that has...

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Whalen inherited a strong program and proceeded to ruin it. By what benchmark is it moving in the right direction? Recruiting? LOL.

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Wow; what a track record. Never mind all the players who've transferred out of the program; the failure to sniff .500 conference record after five years; and the obvious on-the-court hallmarks of a terribly coached team. Sure she will be extended though.

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

    Lindsey Whalen disagrees.

    Ben Johnson is a Disaster

Thought this team would be better, even with all the freshmen. Certainly did not anticipate that Battle would go from all B1G to one of the worst metrics players in the league. CBJ will need to recruit some serious shooting or next year wont be that much different regardless of whether Battle...

How did Coyle let this happen?

Has BJ already entered the MN b-ball coach death spiral ? It usually happens around Year 4 when the GopherHole trolls start complaining, the "hot seat" seat word appears in local press, recruiting necessarily suffers (because who wants to play for a soon-to-be canned coach?), the team...

Isaiah Ihnen has suffered another season-ending knee injury, the U said Monday.

Not surprised whatsoever. These guys are playing TOO MUCH BASKETBALL. Summers should be reserved for shooting, some ball handling, and cross training away from non-slip surfaces. These are devastating injuries; potentially career ending. Best of luck to Isaiah.

Former Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber found dead in his apartment by Frisco police

I hope MBIII's brain is tested for CTE. Young men destroying their brains and futures for our entertainment.

Biggest disappointment of this season became evident tonight

The player rotations (non-rotations) is the one red flag from the season. This indicates a lack of trust; lack of player development; and stubbornness. Surely playing only five or six guys did not give the team its best chance to win last night or probably during the season. A big thank you to...

ESPN: Why are men's college basketball's most surprising teams winning in 2021-22? (MN: The Gophers control tempo, they take care of the ball)

Of course they can make the tournament. Marginal talent; slow pace; good defense; low turnovers? Now what historically successful B1G team does that remind me of? Oh yeah, those guys.

Gophers make history winning with -22 turnover battle

They looked nonchalant and played a little entitled IMO. The hot start may have gone to their collective heads or they were hungover from the MI win. Hard to say, but the sloppy play has got to stop.

Gophers make history winning with -22 turnover battle

Based on the visage and body language of Coach Johnson, I suspect the Gophers will be running some extra wind sprints in practice tomorrow if not after the game tonight. He was particularly furious at the newbs who closed out the game (or didnt close out the game).
