    Coaches to Watch

Yeah, and she had the audacity this weekend to talk about how the Gopher job opening is a really good job. I still do not like her to this day. I agree it IS a good job for the right person but she should shut up about it.

    Coaches to Watch

Before she jumped to Oklahoma I thought she might be Iowa's next coach but Bluder is a ways from being done and Jan Jensen is there as another replacement. Now that she's jumped to OU and has them ranked I doubt the Gophers would be on her leave the Sooners list but maybe worth checking. I do...

BREAKING: Mark Coyle and Lindsay Whalen announced today that Whalen will step down as head coach, effective immediately.

I think that's why this is happening effective immediately. Job #1 for the new coach will be retention of the freshman. Keep the freshman and score a couple of good transfers and the right coach could pull a Shauna Green at Illinois turnaround for the Gophers.

The Comparable 4: Minnesota (Johnson), Iowa State (Otzelberger), Penn State (Shrewsberry), Utah (Smith)

Prohm's first year was a Sweet Sixteen with Hoiberg's roster and the next year was 2nd place in Big 12. He came into a good situation, we were only a season removed from another Sweet Sixteen. Seemed to be off to a good start (not like Sweet 16's litter the ISU basketball resume). Than spent...

The Comparable 4: Minnesota (Johnson), Iowa State (Otzelberger), Penn State (Shrewsberry), Utah (Smith)

Some random thoughts from a Minnesota Cyclone on TJ at ISU: Coach T.J. Otzelberger Related to the coaches comparison, last year for TJ was amazing in making the Sweet Sixteen after inheriting a 2-22 team that went 0-18 in conference under Steve Prohm. Awesome, but peeps still had to think did...

    Other B1G Conference Games 2022-23

Well, that turned out to not be a very good game. Huskers were completely stymied by Michigan defense. Not sure where Wolverine Leigha Brown popped off to over the short holiday break but she was sporting quite a sunburn. 20 PTS 8 REB 7 AST, guess she is solar powered.

    Other B1G Non-Conference Games 2022-23

Been waiting to see how Husker dual sport (volleyball/WBB) star recruit Maggie Mendelson would do as she is finished with volleyball and now hooping. Played 17 minutes and had 9 pts and 9 reb. Not a bad 2nd game in college for the 17 year old who jumped a year to be in this class and was mostly...

    B1G Game 2: Gophers visit Iowa (12-10-22)

Some of the comments here are a bit harsh IMHO. Iowa has the Big 10 POY and five seniors for their top six versus three true freshman. If that wasn't enough Iowa has an All-Big Ten post versus, well, not a post presence that can match up. Katie was pretty out of control as some have noted and...

Good game tonight at 6:00 on ESPN2. #10 Iowa State at #16 Iowa. If you aren't at William's tonight you can tune in for the first half. On paper it would seem to be a really good matchup.

B1G Game 1: Gophers Host Penn State (12-3-22)

That was a fun watch. The turnovers were making me crazy but man did the home state gals come through! Braun 26, Battle 19, Heyer 18. :)

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN STATE BIG TEN OPENER IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Football rules and their interpretation is sorta messed up. That's about as flagrant a facemask as you'll see and nobody gets tossed. You "target", even incidental or by accdient and you get tossed.

Bad news for Hawkeye WBB and worse news for the player, Kylie Feuerbach. Out with ACL. Hate seeing players hurt. :(

All Things Olivia Olson Recruitment Thread - Videos, Analysis, Tid-Bits, Articles

I wonder how coaches ages play into this. Tara and Geno will both be 70 by 2024. Is UConn still UConn without Geno? Will he be there for four years after 2024? Same for Stanford. Heck, maybe it doesn't matter these days. You can change schools at anytime. Interesting to see a resurgent...

All Things Maddyn Greenway Recruitment Thread (Class of 2026, Gophers Offered)

Iowa State offered but I think Cyclones have about a 0.01% probability of getting her. Guessing the offer was like "If something weird happens and you decide no to Iowa we'd love to have you."

Iowa has picked up a point guard to backup Clark. Fills a need since they really didn't have another true PG.

Target Center to host B1G Tournament in 2023 and 2024

True about the Clark effect. I am a Cyclone and Gopher fan, about as far from being a Hawk fan as you can get and I was tuning in to watch her play this year. Will be interesting to see if their big bump in home court attendance translates to a big Mpls migration. Might, not like they...
