***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MICHIGAN STATE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

IMO one of the worst MSU rosters in many years. It would not have been a celebration to beat them on their home court. Izzo works the refs including heading into the locker room at half time while passive Gophers do their thing. And fouls pile up….. A continued lesson in passive coaching and...

2023-2024 College Basketball Other Games Thread

Osobor has been quite a find, and he’s mixed him with a bunch of others who can really play. This is another reason college hoops and especially march madness (including the conf tourneys) are my favorite. Plenty of talent to go around….

Yeah I think Danny Sprinkle can bring it on the coaching side, similar to when he played. Pretty good player…..

The Fox is on the loose!

I see this now, after my own post (which now looks like plagiarism). Johnson has pulled together a really solid roster, me among initial skeptics as I wasn't seeing the early returns on Mitchell and Hawkins. Hawkins has been unreal. Gophers can roll out a really intimidating (height/length)...

The Fox is on the loose!

This I think is the point. I realize lots (besides me) watch games over multiple conferences, and see this is a pretty deep roster. To me it's really impressive to have a guy like Ihnen come off the bench. His height/length along with Fox. In Fox's case, maybe a bit more hyper, and all his...

No doubt Wisconsin looks good. Not sure how folks spin it otherwise. A lot of options on that roster.

Week #5 Field of 68 Projection With A Focus on Record vs. the Field

Thanks for your regular updates on this. It's ambitious to do this so early in the season. Look at this past Sunday afternoon for instance. Colorado really took Miami apart on a neutral court. Sometimes just the eye test may be the way to go, and see if it materializes in late Feb, early March...

CSU beats Huskies in Vegas. Good game. No matter the questions on why didn't Gophers want/recruit this player or that player, it's nice to see a team have an offensive flow/identity and chemistry. My hope is Gophers have been holding back for what comes ahead. They clearly have some size. Can...

    Quarterbacks in the Transfer Portal

That Avery Johnson has some serious speed, and Chris Klieman is a heck of a coach. Gotta respect what K State has built. I kind of thought in '19 year, Gophers had a similar look. Hopefully they get it back.

Let's slow down on the Fire PJ Chatter

I thought about this same thing. In TCU's case, QB play was a huge issue, similar to the Gophers. And interesting that SMU, where Dykes bolted for TCU, just extended Rhett Lashlee after a really good year. Stating the obvious, you cannot win without a quality QB.

Cameron Ward to Washington State via Incarnate Word. He is clearly the exception, but they are out there.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA VS SAN FRANCISCO NEUTRAL SITE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Nebraska is much better than a year ago. They picked up Rienk Mast who has added some muscle, and keeping Tominaga helped. Not sure it's much if at all advantage Gophers but hopefully we see significant improvement over last night's game. First thing to fix is offensive flow, which was difficult...

How do you feel about the state of program right now?

Marcus Williams is another example. He was so good as a freshman at Wyoming, xferred to Texas A&M where it didn't work out. Now he surfaces w/ San Francisco and is putting up good numbers again. He'd absolutely be an upgrade to the guards the Gophers have on the floor this year. Gophers are not...

SMU raises $100 million in seven-day stretch from key donors to support upcoming ACC move

True there continues to be a lot of wealth in the DFW area based on oil/gas industry, but there is much more diverse overall growth and multi-industry (wealth). It's really nuts just how many relatively young wealthy individuals there are in the Dallas area alone, in SMU's back yard. The current...

Gophers in N Alabama transfer Daniel Ortiz top 6

No one expects Ihnen to contribute? For sure, it's been a tough road for him, but if Fox is worth mentioning, then why not Ihnen at 6'10" (?). It'd be a heck of a welcome surprise if he and Fox both show up healthy.
