Gophers among favorites to land 4-star 2023 center Dennis Evans

Also, he seems like a different kind of kid (good thing). Doesn't have social media, I remember hearing a quote that he wasn't necessarily looking for early playing time/bright lights...I'm not at all concerned that he's taking a while to weigh his options and make an unemotional decision.

Most dominant modern day BIG performance?

The Iowa game under Kill felt better. Man it never felt like MSU had a chance though today. Most games when we are up against a "blue chip" opponent I am just waiting for the other shoe to drop...felt like we were playing a directional team from Michigan today not the Spartans.

    Mo in the NFL?

Unfortunately I think he will likely go undrafted, or 4th-7th round at best. Which sucks because I love him and he's given so much to this program. Hope he wins some postseason awards.

Jamison Battle: Hey everyone, earlier today my bike was stolen while I was in class.

It's been this way on the west coast for years, unfortunately. There is an RV that drives around our town and it has maybe 20 some odd bikes strapped to it. They are 100% stolen and will be parted out/resold. It's really frustrating that more is not done about it.

FiveThirtyEight: Where should the Big Ten expand next?

We shall see. My area (Rogue Valley) has had bad fires the last couple years and people are still moving here. I think the wetter areas like Portland/Seattle and other coastal areas will do just fine. I think a greater threat to the population growth in the PNW is the cost of living/family...

FiveThirtyEight: Where should the Big Ten expand next?

Also the West Coast is growing while the Rust Belt is static. Here are the populations (millions). Year Oregon Washington Ohio Michigan 2000 3.9 5.9 11.4 9.9 2022 4.3 (+10%) 7.8 (+32%) 11.7 (+2.5%) 10 (+1%) These conference alignment moves are made with a decades long future view...

Big Ten could expand beyond additions of USC, UCLA, says commissioner Kevin Warren, if it adds 'additional value' to conference

I'm in Oregon and would approve of this...would be awesome to occasionally catch a Gophers game out here.

Isaiah Ihnen has suffered another season-ending knee injury, the U said Monday.

You gotta be fucking kidding me. How often do guys in basketball have these kind of season ending injuries? Seems like we are way above average.

Shooter: While Gophers open in a 50,805-seat stadium, Ohio State opens in a 104,944 stadium.

next week's tidbit: While the Gophers open their 2022 football season against New Mexico State in Minneapolis in the Central Time Zone Sept. 1, Ohio State opens its season against Notre Dame in Columbus in the Eastern Time Zone.

Shooter: The Big 12 Conference is said to be quietly seeking the Gophers, but Minnesota can’t afford the revenue loss of a new BTN deal.

Per Shooter: eker0016 is said to be quietly seeking Gisele Bundchen, but Gisele Bundchen can’t afford the revenue loss of Tom Brady, who, with his Tampa Bay contract and advertising contracts, could be worth nearly $100 million a year.

Betts Set to Reclassify and Join Gophers This Fall!

Yeah I would much prefer the guy in our program a year early than one year at a prep school. Even if he doesn't see a minute of game action, all the practice and teaching is worth it. Dave Thorson teaching defense is invaluable. A B10 strength and conditioning program blows a prep school out of...

Betts Set to Reclassify and Join Gophers This Fall!

I am hoping he can earn a few minutes and get some better coaching and weight room work this year. Those are all positives, even if he doesn't contribute much/at all this year. Hell even if he comes in and redshirts because he can't crack the lineup that is better than using the scholarship on...

All Things 2023 Gophers Basketball Recruiting Thread

Yup, and I love that he will develop with the Gophers program instead of with some 1 year prep school. I also wonder if it makes us a slight bit more attractive to Nolan Winter, since he would not be in the same class as Betts now.

Holy shit this is a great and creative move by Ben. I was hoping the whole "extra scholarship" thing would give them flexibility for a late transfer but I had not considered this. I just got even more excited for this season.

All Things 2023 Gophers Basketball Recruiting Thread

I agree that he could have gotten McKinley...but Rick's arrival in Iona didn't end Washington's career. He transferred to Long Beach State where I imagine he soaked up the sunshine for a year and had career bests in FG% (43%), minutes played (33.5), PPG (14) and assists (5). Google tells me he...

Odd thought on USC/UCLA and the U

I'm excited to visit LA for a Gophers game. I used to live walking distance from the Rose Bowl and it will be fun to go back. I also live in Oregon and I would love if I could go to Eugene/Seattle every couple years for a Gophers game.
