41-54 Record coming into the year

Just brace yourself for the mantra of “if only he could have kept the core together, he would have been successful” for years to come. It’ll never be CBJs fault, nor will those people ever be wrong. Ever.

A forecast of Gophers football’s biggest needs once transfer portal opens

I’m assuming he’s back. But if he leaves, yikes. The drop off from #45/6 to everybody else is dramatic. #9 is passable, but not a difference maker as of yet.

Should Minnesota vs Wisconsin stay on Black Friday

Heck no. Really F’s with Thanksgiving plans. Tolerable for a road game, a big no-no if it was a home game.

POST GAME THREAD!!!!!! GOPHERS BEAT badgers AT wisconsin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By far the biggest game of the year, every year. So a win today pretty much makes the season for me. The mini axe that travels between my dirty Wisconsinite in-laws and myself will now be proudly displayed on my mantle for the next year!

All Things P.J. Fleck Rumor Mill Thread - Listed as Candidate for Other Jobs

This. I still like PJ, but I'm also not enthralled with continuing to raise his buyout. Call his bluff; if he leaves, he leaves. Coyle can't afford to give PJ any more money; he's going to have to hire a competent basketball coach with a legitimate B1G salary in a few months.

I'm waiting for Sid to chime in. Pretty sure he knows about as much as Shooter and Doogie.

What is an acceptable expectation for a Gopher Men’s Basketball Head Coach?

To be in the B1G and have your last two coaches have a grand total of 1 season of head coaching experience between them when hired is utterly ridiculous IMO. While all coaching hires are gambles, to hire a guy with no head coaching experience at a P4/5 program is an unnecessarily large gamble...

What is an acceptable expectation for a Gopher Men’s Basketball Head Coach?

Add Marquette and Iowa as well. Iowa is the worst of those 4 programs, but they’re the ‘92 Bulls in comparison to what we’ve put on the court the last handful of years. I’m with you; there is absolutely no reason they should have demonstrable advantages over the U. In fact, IMO, at least three...

Mundt had a worse day. But it doesn’t matter; they won!

Post Game Thread: Gophers lose heartbreaker to PSU

Heck of an effort by the Gophers. Thought they outplayed PSU a good chunk of the game. But PSU’s players are on average 10-15% better than ours. Not impossible to overcome, but you gotta play clean, which they didn’t. I didn’t mind the call to kick the FG at the end. Our defense had been...

Where did you watch Dan Nystrom’s game winning FG over PSU?

Some dingy corner bar getting lunch after a morning of pheasant hunting with my dad. I was in high school; don’t remember the town, but I can picture the inside of the bar.

Hands. It’s all about hand size. And can you throw the ball 70 yards from your knees.

    Attendance

If you can get 2k fans to show up to the Barn on a non game day, I’d say they’re doing pretty good.

All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

The Cowboys have a lost season and still won't throw Lance out there. Man, that was an epic-level bust. The NFL just can't help itself when it comes to measurables.

Michigan just paid $12 million for their new 5* QB, flips him from LSU

These aren't contracts; these are provisional "assurances". Yet they continually get reported like it's a contract that was signed between the Detroit Lions and a free agent with legally binding terms and conditions. He may get paid, he may not. The whole situation is messed up.

All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

It could be worse. The Jets have 6 prime time games and haven’t seen the playoffs since 2011. At least the Cowboys went to (and won a game) as recently as 2022.

All Things 2024-25 Vikings Regular Season Thread

Currently, the percentages of kicks in 2024: 0-39 yards: 98% 40-49: 77% 50+: 76% The end of the game by the Bears was baffling. They had enough time and downs to run 2 more plays than they did if they were smart. You don't need to get 20 yards; just get 5-10 more and your chances go up...

    Curt Cignetti’s Contract

Mel Tucker was 16-14 overall when he signed his contract. Cignetti is 129-35. Hopefully IU paid a private investigator to dig into his background to determine if he’s likely to engage in inappropriate phone sex. Of course, Tucker’s transgressions was the best thing to happen to MSU, so maybe...

***OFFICIAL YALE AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Was at the game today and saw Coyle there. It took every fiber of my being to not ask him why he doesn’t give a crap about this program.
