I agree given the lack of success at this point, but this is analogous to hiring an athletic director to do a job and then hiring another more qualified assistant athletic director to help the new athletic director succeed. Why not hire the other person to begin with?

I read his contract runs thru 4/1/27, totaling 6 years. Since this is year 2 and there's no mention of buyout after 2 years CBJ must be owed the remainder of the contract ($ 8mm) if let go now. Ouch!

After CBJ's 3rd year the buyout is 75% of his remaining base salary of $ 8MM, so $ 6MM. After 4 years buyout is 50% of the remaining base.

Something scared away candidates prior to Pitino and during the Johnson hire. Probably had a shot at some experienced coaches instead of Johnson though but selected the wrong leader. Even Northern Illinois passed on Johnson. Johnson is a branch from the Pitino coaching tree and unfortunately...

From an opposing fan perspective, T. Rizo is the same as McCaffrey. On the court during the game, complaining about every call against MSU and getting in the ear of the referees. It's so annoying, particularly when the gophers lose almost every game.
