    I 👃a 5-2 finish. What 👃 you?

I have a feeling there is going to be a fight, multiple technical fouls, and possibly an ejection in this game. Rutgers is so physical and somewhat chippy, I don’t see some of our guys having it. Super meaninful game with high tension. We shoot better, but hope we are able to grab more rebounds.

    I 👃a 5-2 finish. What 👃 you?

Its so difficult to predict BTN this year! Home is a huge advantage. If the Big Ten is down/lackluster, all of college basketball is as well. I don't buy it. My 10-10 pre-season call was from a belief that this team could play with anyone in the conf. Fox and Christie have exceeded...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT PURDUE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

(Edited from prev.) PUR currently -16.5 (-19.5 Torvik) and expected score 83-64. Garcia needs to play at 100% if MN wants a chance to win at PUR. Duh. Purdue does a lot of things very well, and I've spent the week looking for chinks in the armor. The bad news for MN is that PUR is #1 in BTN...

    Ohio State fires Holtmann

The type of ball we are seeing with the available talent from MN this year, I would much rather keep CBJ through his 2027 contract. Likely beyond. OSU has NIL, better recruits and transfer rankings (means little imo), and they stink in the BTN. MN plays team ball and I like it, esp on the...

    Ohio State fires Holtmann

Looking at OSU's season there are a few things to note. I have followed them fairly closely, as they were picked preseason in the top half of the BTN. Despite the horrific flop OSU has taken since 1/3/24 after 14 games, I suspect there is a back story that will come to light w/Holtmann, who...

Ben Johnson: “We lost our edge. Even though we were up the energy, the vibe wasn’t what it needed to be. We got low into their pace.”

Haven't heard anything other than what's been reported. Coaches seem to downplay the injury, which is optimistic.

Ben Johnson: “We lost our edge. Even though we were up the energy, the vibe wasn’t what it needed to be. We got low into their pace.”

Busy week planned so I'm doing my breakdown for PUR on this board. In-game not yet available. PUR currently -19.5 and expected score 83-64. Garcia needs to play at 100% if MN wants a chance to win at PUR. Duh. Purdue does a lot of things very well, and I've spent the morning looking for chinks...

Ben Johnson: “We lost our edge. Even though we were up the energy, the vibe wasn’t what it needed to be. We got low into their pace.”

That said, MN is currently 2 games above my optimistic preseason prediction (conf. 10-10) and I have them winning 5 of their last 8 conference games. Purdue will pose a challenge, but the back to back home games RUT/OSU hopefully propels them to a win in Lincoln and all will be right in the...

Ben Johnson: “We lost our edge. Even though we were up the energy, the vibe wasn’t what it needed to be. We got low into their pace.”

That was a tough one. It seemed like the second half developed into a perfect storm for Iowa. Garcia injury was obviously the biggest issue. Terrible home officiating against MN (Look at calls on Payne vs Freeman's shoving). MN content to trade baskets w/the lead. Gophers and Iowa both...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT IOWA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Minnesota is trending up and Iowa is trending down. Since Iowa's peak stretch of wins RUT/NEB/MN, their conference play has been very sketchy. In Iowa's last 5 games (2-3), teams are shooting 43.1% from behind the arc against them, while Iowa has shot 31.2%. PSU/OSU/MD shredded Iowa and the...

    Peaking at the right time?

I can say with a fair amount of confidence that CBJ and staff is trying to get Payne making his free throws, get Ihnen slashing to be the next KD, working on Carrington's 3's so he doesn't get Kalscheuritis, Hawkins changing speeds more and making the easy play, slowing down Mitchell's brain...

How many more wins for Ben to lose the disaster level?

CBJ is NOT a disaster, and he is a very good in-game coach. This team has gotten to the level of being able to play with any team in a one possession game on any given night. In previous years due to many factors discussed already, MN would typically have only 1-2 really great games where they...

***OFFICIAL MICHIGAN STATE AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

*Michigan State's last 8 games-- 5 wins, they have turned over their opponents 22.7% of possessions. In their 3 losses, they have turned over opponents 9.7%. Take care of the ball and MN will win. MSU made 3's at 38% (only 77 attempts) their last 5 games, while MN is 11th best in D1 limiting...

    Michigan St. Tuesday

Going into the Michigan St. game tomorrow, I just have to comment to the group about how the media "experts" saw the Pre-season Big Ten vs. Reality half way through the season. The BTN Media pre season poll: 1. Purdue 2. Michigan St. 3. Maryland 4. Illinois 5. Wisconsin 6. Indiana...

Ben Johnson is NOT a disaster....

Going into this homestand, I thought the odds of winning both games—NW and MSU was greater than losing both games. Same thing opposite with NW going on road to Purdue and MN—greater chance of losing both, than winning both. MSU is not the physical Parolees of past years. They are vulnerable...

    CENTERS

Offers to two class of 2025 centers. Tee Bartlett (Henderson, NV) 4-star "91" 6-10/274 Nat'l 67/Pos. 9 Kai Rogers (Milwaukee, WI) 4-star "90" 6-10/240 Nat'l 78/Pos. 11 MN has better chance of getting Bartlett just based on the schools offering Rogers is much more...

Coach Ben: Think Jack Wilson getting Edey off his game on Feb. 15

Peppers was a huge football player that occupied the lane, kept opposing bigs from instinctively attacking the rim. He moved well, and having actually seen him play I can attest that despite playing more minutes than Wilson thus far and having a disparity in offensive output, their contribution...
