    Sam Freeman Enters Transfer Portal

I almost forgot about that. No player in the history of basketball has been called for more phantom fouls than Colton Iverson.

    Sam Freeman Enters Transfer Portal

Iverson looked like a much better player to me when he was here than Freeman has so far. Always irked me that he didn't get more playing time. I wasn't surprised at all that he had such a good year for CSU. Who knows how Freeman will develop. I'm not saying with any sort of certainty that he...

    Sam Freeman Enters Transfer Portal

Agreed on Mitchell. He's still a mystery. I think we saw enough of Freeman to know he's a below average Big Ten player though.

    Potential transfer, KyKy Tandy

Yeah, if Johnson likes him and thinks he'd be a good culture fit, then I guess I'd probably take him given how many openings we have at guard, though I'm hoping we can land someone better.

Holmgren has not been contacted yet...

Or maybe he was just passing along something he heard.

    Tre' Williams enters the Portal

Just to be clear, you’re that confident that Gabe is bad based on a 2 game sample size? The first two games of his college career?

All Things 2021 Gophers Basketball Recruiting Thread

Yeah, it could go either direction to me. He could be less efficient because he's playing against better teams, but if he felt the need to constantly force things because his team needed him to, then allowing the game to come to him more since he has more talent around him could make him more...

High-flying Division II transfer Parker Fox talked to Gophers among long list of suitors

Most D2 players are playing at that level for a reason and would have no business playing in the Big Ten, but Fox had a late growth spurt and is very much a late bloomer, so you can't compare him to the typical D2 player. There is a reason there are 20+ D1 schools contacting him, many of which...

High-flying Division II transfer Parker Fox talked to Gophers among long list of suitors

If all he can do is jump, then I agree. If he's a big time defender, that's a different story. A Dennis Rodman type role (obviously not saying he'd be that good) would be nice to have, especially after we get some transfers who can shoot, like Gabe Madsen and Kerwin Walton :).

I imagine with more talent around him, he wouldn't force as many shots and would be more efficient. I really hope so, anyway.

High-flying Division II transfer Parker Fox talked to Gophers among long list of suitors

Probably not unfortunately. His highlights only showed 2 made 3s, but I haven’t seen stats beyond points and rebounds, so not really sure. I’m more accepting of having a PF who can’t shoot than a guard/wing though, especially if he’s a big time defender.

High-flying Division II transfer Parker Fox talked to Gophers among long list of suitors

If you would have kept watching you would have seen more than just dunks, but when you’re that athletic (definitely would be one of the best athletes in the Big Ten) of course most of your highlights are going to be dunks. He was also a two time defensive player of the year. When you’re that...

Jamal Mashburn Jr: I don't plan on staying and I'm just looking for the right situation for me.

His defense improved and looked pretty good at the end of the season.

    Press Conference at 11:00 CDT

Agreed, but I think most of the fans who are upset will get on board as soon as he gets a couple good commits/transfers, so I'm not super worried about that right now.

    Press Conference at 11:00 CDT

Im not big into forcing square pegs into round holes. He needs to know who is on the team first. He said he wants good three point shooters and tough defenders. I’m okay with that. Give the guy a chance.

Amir: Great hire Minnesota; Gopher ball is in good hands! Oturu: Best thing I’ve read in a while. Major reason why i put that maroon and gold on

Fair question. I'm like 95% sure he has said in the past that coaching at the D1 level is a goal of his though.
