POST GAME THREAD: Sound off!!! Gophers beat Syracuse!

What I loved: 1.) Great send off for Mo and Morgan 2.) Athan looked really good when he was in. 3.) Underclassmen got plenty of playing time at key positions. 4.) WR group looked solid for the most part. What I didn't like: 1.) Field 2.) Fleck's lack of a killer instinct with lead - really...

Iowa top instate recruit, 5 star recruit, Kadyn Proctor appears to be flipping to Alabama

The problem with looking at where we rank compared to other B1G schools it is not an accurate measure of how our ranking has improved. We went from getting kids that no other P5 programs wanted to now getting kids that many other P5 schools want. The gap between schools ranked #5 -#10 in B1G...

Northern Kentucky Tribune: The most successful quarterback in the history of the University of Minnesota football is Ryle HS graduate Tanner Morgan.

I dont think 2nd post is negative, just saying MN had at least 1 QB who should be considered as higher standing than Morgan. Now Morgan is the best QB we have had in a long time and should be appreciated. I dont think that post takes away from his accomplishments.

    Tanner Morgan NFL draft profiles

Why Tanner makes and NFL roster 1.) He can hit his spots. Tanner was a good, if not great target passer who could get it into tight spots. This includes passes over 20 yards as well. Problem was he had an inconsistent receiving core that he never developed chemistry with. With NFL receivers...

Former Wisc QB Mertz to ... Florida?

Remember after his first game against Lovie Smiths Illini defense when he threw for 5 TD's and everyone crowned him the next great thing (even some national pundits). Perhaps FL feels like they can tap into that. Would love to see him tear up the SEC after getting creamed in B1G.

    Vikings game

While I would agree with you, the NFL will focus in on Jefferson vs. Cousins. Jefferson will be the first receiver to 2,000 yards and his highlight reel catches will overcome the quarterbacking Cousins has done (statistically he hasn't been great).

    Vikings game

Why the Vikings win in tight games is because they have Veteran leadership that knows how to make plays and not give up - Cousins, Hunter, Harris, Smith, Cobb, Theilen, Jefferson, Peterson. Why they are in so many tight games. They have some real week spots that are obvious (interior OL...

Reusse: This is not the golden era of Golden Gophers football, despite P.J. Fleck's claim

Gopher fans who have been alive for the last 40 years, realize how good we have it right now. Still, in a town starved for a championship of any kind in a nationally recognized male sport, it is easy to attack Fleck for not producing. It gets clicks and there is enough people that are ignorant...

    Jim Leonhard staying in Madison

If he was shocked and surprised by the move, it probably means his agent wasn't working on another option. My guess this is a "work for me" and "help me keep the recruits" and I will help you get a job after bowl season. We will compensate you well for helping keep everything together and...

Betting line prediction: Minnesota vs Syracuse

I hope Mo takes a break. Last thing I want to see is Mo getting hurt. He has given so much to the U of M and if he wants to play, that is great. I wouldn't mind seeing Evans get some carries and get a glimpse of what next year might look like with him in the rotation.

Deion Sanders Replaces Mike Sanford as Head Coach at Colorado | Tim Brewster Likely Lead Assistant

Primetime going to Colorado is already a success because people are at least talking about Colorado football in a positive light. Deion will get talent there. it may take another coach to actually start winning there, but I think it is a smart choice for where the program was at.

All Things 2022 Minnesota High School Football Thread

Why was there no instant replay? Lots of reviews in semi-finals. None in 6AFinals. 2 big calls that should have been looked at for sure. Maple Grove was the better team, but calls that went there way helped make game get out of hand. Not surprised by actions of Rosemount plsyers. Have...

    Cade McNamara to Iowa

Kirk probably funded a $1million dollar NIL deal for McNamara just so he could justify keeping his son around. Having him at QB will draw some middling Blue blood WR transfer talent that is itching to start. They may actually have a descent offense next year, but with Brian at the helm they...

Markus Allen Commits to the Gophers

Let the WI pipeline begin. WR spot filled. Would love a DE/LB who had 11.5 sacks last year come over and stick it to his former team

    Wisconsin targeting Luke Fickell

WI will become what Michigan State was, a transfer portal junkie hoping for a hit. If they find some they may be good. my thoughts are it will be bad next year, but recruiting success will keep WI fans hopeful.

    2023 Offensive Scheme

#1 - QB will run more - Athan already showing this and expect trend to continue. #2 - Will pass more on 1st and 2nd downs. Did this a lot in 2019 and will do again if defenses decide to play the run first. As trust is built in passing game, no reason to run when people are letting you pass...

    Transfer Portal - Potential Targets

Wish list WR - for a starter/game changer - if not stay the course DE - for a starter/game changer - same as above OL - get some depth RB - get a change of pace speedster CB/S - depth - but feel good standing pat

    Wisconsin targeting Luke Fickell

Fleck, Coach C/Simon and Rossi is a winning combination. Rhule and Fickell have more accolades than Fleck, but I think if we can keep the band together we will be just fine. The big differentiator is that the Gophers don't have the fan base WI and NE do. We need a donor or a Fortune 500...

Rumored that Matt Rhule to Lincoln

Funny thing is that Nebraska would be happy to get it back to the level Fleck has gotten the Gophers. 1 top ten finish, in and out of the to 25 in other years and competitive in most/all game. Not sure if they could take losing to Iowa every year, live PJ does, but everything else they would...

The headline in the Sunday paper will read?...

Gophers lost to Iowa hurts even more after Purdue loses to Indiana and Gophers win. Just your typical MN view on any victory we get. Its not about what is, but what could have been.
