University of Texas head men's basketball coach Chris Beard was arrested and charged with assault on a family member.

After being mediocre for decades, Texas finally gets to the top of the polls and top of the recruiting rankings....and all of a sudden the coach is a woman-beater. And I'm the strange one??

If we are playing for the future, why is Samuels starting? Minutes going forward

Well duhhh. Coach Johnson has a grand total of ONE recruiting class on the team. As freshmen. I've been overly nice. But the next time I see someone criticize Coach Johnson for roster construction...I'm going to call them something...

University of Texas head men's basketball coach Chris Beard was arrested and charged with assault on a family member.

It takes a very strong effort to keep Texas sucking in football and basketball. Do you think this just happens?? Like as soon as they're good...out-of-nowhere the coach beats his girlfriend...?? GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

Thank You! Coach Johnson for Your Success Plan Underway!

No, Reggie Lynch was not arrested. I'll never forget the night my friend messaged me on Facebook that Lynch was kicked out. Pitino's best team ruined, suddenly, out-of-nowhere. I immediately went onto the Rivals Gopher board that I was a member of since 2003...but I was kicked out too...

Thank You! Coach Johnson for Your Success Plan Underway!

Yup. I'm for innocent until proven guilty. Or I'd at least want a police or hospital report. Not simply an allegation. And I think buying players makes a total mockery of college sports. The only reason we don't think it's totally absurd is because smiling faces in suits-&-ties in the media...

I didn't think he'd be fired unless the hospital report showed injuries. That's the only thing I'm interested in - the hospital report. On the other hand, this isn't Texas Tech or TCU. This is Texas...who has lost their blueblood status and has faded into mediocrity.

Thank You! Coach Johnson for Your Success Plan Underway!

We agree on this. I'd have kept Haskins and kept that team intact. I'd have added Royce White & Trevor Mbakwe to our NCAA team that returned its top 9 players. I'd have kept Reggie Lynch. I'm not yet on board though with turning college sports into a total joke. As in setting up a huge...

Yuck: Adding more teams to March Madness among recommendations by NCAA transformation committee

When I say specifics, I'm always very logical. Here I'm not advocating for anything specific. It's tempting to ruin the NCAA Tournament to just to hurt Kansas, Duke, North Carolina, Gonzaga, and these teams I can't stand. Not saying I would...but I might not cry over it.

Was firing Richard Pitino a panic move?

Oh sure, technically the exact words "I am calling for Pitino to return" haven't been written here. Or "I am calling for Dennis Gates" or "I am calling for Ben to be fired". But this headline, the Gates headline, the 'Ben is a disaster' headline, etc., etc., etc....you guys want to have your...

Was firing Richard Pitino a panic move?

To be fair...I am now starting to see some posts about redistributing the minutes and giving more to the freshmen.

If we are playing for the future, why is Samuels starting? Minutes going forward

Agreed. I'm assuming (hoping) that it's a psychological thing to take the pressure off. And to keep the team happy. But toward the end of the season, this has to change.

Yuck: Adding more teams to March Madness among recommendations by NCAA transformation committee

I admit...I'm absolutely repulsed by the NCAA Tournament...I hate it unless the Gophers are in it. It's depressing. I'm for anything that hurts or dilutes the best programs. And I'm for anything that helps the Gophers.

Battle/Cooper/Garcia combine for 15 turnovers against Wisconsin

I hope it's 30 minutes for Battle, Garcia, & Cooper by the end of the season. Not 40. And far less of the team % of shots taken.

Was firing Richard Pitino a panic move?

Bob assures us that everyone on here realizes were rebuilding. But I'm seeing meltdowns game by game. Calls for Pitino to return. My suggestion to you is to take a step back and monitor the progress by the box scores. Don't watch the games and get all riled up.

Battle/Cooper/Garcia combine for 15 turnovers against Wisconsin

They (Battle, Garcia, Cooper) were also 17-43 shooting. 40%. Our 3 freshmen were 7-11. 64%. Yes, to win immediately our 3 transfers give us the best chance. But i hope we transition to the future more as the season goes on.

I want the freshmen to get as many minutes as possible.

If we are playing for the future, why is Samuels starting? Minutes going forward

By mid-season I hope our 3 freshmen are getting 25 minutes each. Closer to 30 each by the end of the season. With Henley up to about 20.

If we are playing for the future, why is Samuels starting? Minutes going forward

I'll never forget desperate Vikings coach Leslie Frazier going ALL-OUT for a meaningless win in the last game of the season vs Washington. It cost us 6 spots in the draft plus got Adrian Peterson injured for the entire next season. And desperate Brad Childress firing our most important player...

    How to measure success

No, this rebuild attempt can NOT be called a trainwreck already. That contradicts the definition. The negativity level on this board shows that guys are not accepting that this is a rebuild. Plus most of the analysis is about 'did we win or not'. My focus is almost entirely on our freshmen...
