    B1G Game 16: Gophers Visit Nebraska (2-20-22)

That's assuming those juniors don't decide to transfer themselves. I wouldn't blame them.

    B1G Game 16: Gophers Visit Nebraska (2-20-22)

If your "point guard" comes down the floor looking to shoot almost every time, there's not much reason to move around.

    B1G Game 13: Gophers Visit Iowa (2-9-22)

Clark reminds me of Diana Taurasi. Great talent, intense competitor. And a first class whiner. Worse yet, she gets away with it.

    B1G Game 11: Gophers Visit Indiana (2-3-22)

Even though they lost, I thought it was one of their better efforts. Better ball movement for one thing. And fewer drives into a crowd of defenders. Powell may have been part of the problem. Someone has to teach them how to set a screen, however. It's not that difficult. But the bigs and...

Columbus Post-Dispatch: Violence erupted 50 years ago when Ohio State played Minnesota in basketball; careers and lives ruined

I was a season ticket holder for 39 years, and was at that game. This is the first time I've heard allegations that the Ohio State players made racial comments directed at the Gopher players. If they did, I never read about it. Sounds more like something made up after the fact to justify...

B1G Game 8: Gophers Visit Michigan State (1-23-22)

Hope the two guards coming in next year can take away some minutes from Powell. She's been brutal lately.

B1G Game 6: Minnesota Hosts Ohio State (1-15-22)

Focus, discipline, mental toughness, whatever you call it, this Gopher team doesn't have it. Lazy passes at crucial moments, matador defense (Scalia puts all her effort on offense, disappears on defense), not enough ball movement, same old, same old. Scalia and Powell just take turns at the...

BIG Game 3: Gophers Visit Rutgers (1-6-22)

So have the Gophers ever had a player with a larger gap between athletic ability and actual performance as Sissoko?

MN Spokesman-Recorder: Micheaux Has Whalen Excited

What's disappointing to me is their play relative to their experience. Scalia, Powell, and Sissoko are in their third year, and we also have four grad students on the roster. They should be making far fewer "freshman" mistakes, and should have an idea of what's required to play good defense by...

    B1G Game 2: Gophers Visit Michigan (12-12-21)

What a pathetic performance. Defensively, I thought they played well for 3 quarters and then they fell apart in the 4th. Offensively they were a disjointed mess. As tripledouble indicated, way too many turnovers. And who teaches them about screens? Same thing over and over. No discipline...

Ben Johnson says the bench will see more minutes

I do remember Rick Barry. And I think Wilt tried them also, but he never had much luck with free throws in general. In fact, while he averaged 30.1 points per game for his career, he only shot 51.1 percent from the FT line.

    B1G Game 1: Gophers Host Nebraska (12-6-21)

My question is, why was she recruited in the first place? She's hardly contributing, is here for this year only, and is taking playing time away from the younger players. Sconiers had some promising moments last year, and now she's not seeing the court. I expect we'll see a few transfers...

    25 year season ticket holder

Who said that Iowa and Wisconsin were inferior to MN then? When the Gophers and Iowa played on Nov. 5, 1960, Iowa was ranked No 1 in the country and MN was third. In the last game of the 1962 season Wisconsin defeated the Gophers (by way of a disputed roughing the passer penalty on Bobby...

With regard to the recruitment of Black players, discochris is correct. Every major southern program was segregated in 1960. Fortunately for Minnesota, its coach, Murray Warmath, was not a racist. He recruited Bobby Bell. Seeing that, other Blacks, such as Sandy Stephens, Bill Munsey, Carl...

Not everyone can be as objective as you. If I remember correctly, fan is an abbreviation of fanatic. If you eliminate the fans who "live and die" with their teams, you're not going to have many left. And all fans, not just the ones who agree with you, have the right to express their...

Just to clarify, I'm not implying the Fleck is a bad coach and should be fired. I think he has improved the program and he just might take us to the next level. But he has made some questionable decisions and is open to being criticized.
