    Juwan Howard

Love to see the people who thought it was no big deal the Wayzata coach shoved a player and said we shouldn't rip on him, who then come on here to say Howard should be fired lol.

All Things Pharrel Payne Recruiting Thread (Class of 2022; Gophers Have Offered)

I hear what you are saying, but when talking rosters you have to slot them in somewhere. Ihnen/Battle/Fox have versatility, although we will see some combo of them at the 3/4/ and maybe 5 depending on the team we are playing.

I think you are correct, but would bet Payne will start unless we get a transfer big. Not sure Ihnen will be able to bang with a lot of B1G bigs, but could be wrong.

Yeah idk how I forgot him. Could get spot minutes at the 4 too if we go small, but is best suited at the 3.

Are you saying you think he is more of a 4? I'm not sure I think he will play much at the 4 with Battle/Ihnen/Fox but could be wrong. I know there is position versatility but if he's 6'6 200 that might be a tough task to guard B1G 4/5s. I thought he was more of a slasher but admittedly haven't...

Looking at the roster I would have to agree. Probably him and a transfer big? Ihnen, Thompson, Fox at the 4. Anybody's guess is as good as mine at the 1-3. I'd assume we find a transfer PG/SG to start and possibly Henley or Ola Joseph at the 3? Carrington getting solid minutes at the 1/2 maybe.

I hear you but that was a measurement from 08/21, no reason he couldn't hit it hard and get up to 195/200 by start of next year. Good point on LB if he does make it.

If Payne would have had a little more touch around the rim he probably would have went for 30. It was a crazy game for him by any means, had some sweet dunks, but looked solid. You can tell he is a good athlete, and is playing a fairly skilled big as well.

His brother played too, was #23. I don't think Elliot was the most explosive back running the ball for Hutch, but looks like he lead the team in tackles on a dominant D. Not sure I see his game being high D1 though, but we will see

Watched a lot of Hutch games, I like the Hutch kid and has a frame that would probably allow him to put on quite a bit of weight. RB/LB/S type of recruit.

***MINNESOTA AT NEBRASKA BOTH TEAMS NEED A WIN IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

You are discounting Daniels ability to play man d against a chunk of the B1G. We rotate our defense sets quite frequently. Thompson has been solid on offense for sure, but on defense its been tough for him to get boards (cant defend 5s, or a lot of 4's either). He averages 1.3 boards in 9.3...

***MINNESOTA AT NEBRASKA BOTH TEAMS NEED A WIN IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

It would help us today, because he isn't very good right now. Ogelle played like two minutes last game so not sure I get that reference, Thompson has been playing over him for awhile. I don't mind Thompson getting minutes, but he has been playing the 4 and matching up against their 4 correct...

***MINNESOTA AT NEBRASKA BOTH TEAMS NEED A WIN IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Same page man, there is always this weird allure to some fans to play the backup. Like playing Mond against the packers, like benching Morgan in the middle of the season. I get giving them some time for developmental reasons but think people take it a little too far.

***MINNESOTA AT NEBRASKA BOTH TEAMS NEED A WIN IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I'm not really sure what the allure of playing Treyton more is to some. He is a slow, 6'10/190lbs, and can't guard a 4 or 5 very well. On offense he stands on the arc setting screens and waiting to shoot a 3 ball, and is pretty much zero threat to take it to the rim. He is a freshman and can...

Yeah I'm not saying it was likely, but would keep the door open. Exactly, that was the couple that I was referencing. The NET would not have been great but with those wins I do think we maybe pull into the 60s? Not sure how to predict the movement on that tbh.
