Shama: Expanded Playoff Breath of Fresh Air for Gopher Football

Imagine a playoff night game in Minneapolis in December.

Interesting: Who are the 5 best coaches in college football?

I think my point is 100% valid. Ohio State has the most talent in the B1G, and should be running the table and setting themselves up for a 1 or 2 seed every year. Yes, you're right, Anything can happen in that semifinal game. However, I think Day has assembled rosters and talent at a level that...

Interesting: Who are the 5 best coaches in college football?

You wrote this entire response, apparently, without reading that I said "fans who are calling for his firing are delusional."

Interesting: Who are the 5 best coaches in college football?

I'm absolutely defining it as "playing in the national title game." Although, I do agree he has been elite and the OSU fans calling for his firing are delusional. I just think some of those rosters have been the best in the country aside from Georgia.

Interesting: Who are the 5 best coaches in college football?

The fact that Ryan Day isn't competing for a national title every year with that talent is downright embarrassing.

    Steele’s All Big Ten Team.

Daniel Jackson is an interesting pick considering our QB situation. I also hope to see him look a bit more explosive and physical. He's had several years with our S&C now.

3 most overrated Big Ten football coaches ahead of 2024 (3. PJ Fleck, Minnesota)

This is the goal. Anyone who has watched the gophers for a long time can see that, under fleck, we started to matchup athletically and physically against Wisconsin and Iowa in ways we simply didn't in the past. Say what you want about Fleck but he filled out our roster correctly. Now, our...

Who else will buy the new NCAA Football game?

As some of you may know, there will be a new EA Sports NCAA Football game this summer, after 10+ years of the last version. I haven't had gaming console in almost a decade but I will return for this one. Yes, I will buy a PlayStation just to play this game. Yes, I will create a juggernaut...

P.J. Fleck and players spring conference.

Todo bien. We won't know anything about this team until we get to see the first team offense in mid August

What do you miss most about Gopher games at the Metrodome?

I remember being able to move anywhere during some blowout games. Fun stuff.

What do you miss most about Gopher games at the Metrodome?

Love it or hate it, it's a Minnesota sports icon and had a distinct feel. I was young when my family had season tickets, but I vaguely remember the entire student section "bouncing" during the 1st down chants.

I just hope our secondary will step up around him. Winfield was lucky to play with some very good defenses and guys in the back end, which opened up the game for him to do his thing.

Shooter: Pro scouts aren’t impressed with the slinging throwing motion of Rutgers-bound QB Athan Kaliakmanis, the ex-Gopher.

He got away with it in 2022 because we had a great running game and he had easier route concepts off the play action. In other words, he had bigger openings and targets. In 2023 he was asked to make tighter throws, and also spot the ball downfield more. That's when the accuracy goes.

    Updated Player Ratings.

In a logical universe, we should be able to out-recruit Purdue and, yes, Iowa. We should aspire to start out-recruiting Wisconsin, although that will be tough as they can still pull nationally in a way we can't. Nebraska is full of delusional NIL money and support so I'm not even going to touch that

Can you guys explain why Alipate failed? Was he that bad at QB? Couldn't they have just stuck him in the film room/practice field and had him develop for 2-3 years?
