    Already bowling (likely)

That was my understanding as well. There is news today that James Madison is again going to petition the NCAA to reduce their 2-year "no bowl" transition period to 1 year. The previous denial was before the season, so not sure if their record will change the NCAA's mind this time around.

    NCAA Ruins NIT

This article does state the changes were in response to Fox. https://theathletic.com/5037867/2023/11/07/nit-changes-college-football-playoff-g5-teams/

I had that same thought too. Indiana seemed to be best among Big Ten (and had even better representation on this last year IIRC), but for much of the list, it is a "Who's who" of power programs.

    All Things Gopher Baseball

Still waiting on it to be released. Last year, if I recall correctly, it was released quite late (though often most of it is known by then anyway). As of now, here is what is known: Feb 16-19 @ Sanderson Ford Classic (Surprise, AZ) Cal State Bakersfield, Oregon State, New Mexico, Oregon...

    All Things Gopher Baseball

It does seem like this team has a chance to be improved and move up in the standings next year. They have a core of position players returning and have players who have seen action for depth and matchup options. On the mound, there seems to be enough talent, and last year we lost all three...

Fullerton State needed 5:30 to score their first points of season after being down 14-0, but have closed to within 2 against the Aztecs.

Gophers Defense (would love some fan input)

I didn't think we had any standouts on defense last year. If I had to rank them, I would maybe go with Payne, and Carrington and Garcia after. At the other end, I thought Thompson really struggled. Cooper also had guys blow past him on the dribble a lot, but did use his length to contest...

    Inane announcers

I had similar reaction, as I began trying to recall the other games. But it was great to see those highlights from the Halloween win again. 😀

POST GAME THREAD: Gophers Get Convincing Win Over MSU

Overall, can't complain much with the win. I was thinking it was dicey when it was still 4 point game in 4th, but didn't have to sweat out final couple minutes. AK was much more accurate today. Both of his turnovers were rough, and he has to throw it away on that late 2nd quarter rollout/tfl...

    NCAA Ruins NIT

Are these changes in response to that news from a few weeks back about Fox thinking of creating a tournament for non-NCAA teams from their conference partners?

    Week 9 Other Games Thread

Happy for Jerry and there is no doubt he has them winning more at a program that hasn't had much winning in quite a while, but to say he has completely turned around the program (per the X post) seems a stretch. The combined record of the teams they have beaten is 11-34 (including an awful 1-AA...

Is this already a succesful season?

No, too early to say the season is already a success. Winning Floyd is great, but we need to win a few more games to call it a success.

    2023-2024 Gophers Basketball Schedule Thread

Maybe this has been discussed in past and I missed it, but is there a particular reason the conference schedules these pair of early conference games, and then resume the non-conference schedule?

I guess it looks right to me except the redshirts from last year (medical or otherwise) were also counted, so I think Egan, Saunders, and Kennedy should show "1" and Semb "3"...?

Bork was one I was wondering on - I think he was honored on senior day IIRC last year, but looks like he is back.
