Post Game Thread: Gophers lose heartbreaker to PSU

Iowa is much closer to Chicago and therefore is much better situated. You might be right about Nebraska though.

We need a fan communications system for stuff like this!! "PJ call a timeout quick!"

Considering that Minnesota has by far the lowest number of 3, 4, and 5 star recruits within 200 miles of any Big Ten team, I think Fleck has recruited pretty well. Maybe Minnesota fans will open up their pockets a bit more and NIL can help close the gap.

    Run Game

I dunno, I give the game plan today and the execution a high grade as they moved the ball on the ground and in the air against a top 10 defense in the country. The offensive line played much better today.

    Who 👃an Upset on Saturday?

Yeah that goofy looking number 33 is a problem. The Gophers really don’t have a great LB for TE pass coverage. Penn State exploited I believe Lindenberg or Sori-Marin on TE seam routes during the last matchup.

    Who 👃an Upset on Saturday?

The 2016 Gopher team lacked discipline often and really should have won that season opener Vs PSU. Anyone remember this play? https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/17687748/minnesota-golden-gophers-lb-jaylen-waters-ejected-hitting-penn-state-kicker-joey-julius

Michigan just paid $12 million for their new 5* QB, flips him from LSU

I agree but out Brosmer on their team and I bet they have two more wins (Illinois, UW and maybe even IU).

    ALL MAROON against Penn State.

Most certainly winning the Uni battle. We are lucky in that regard

Post Game Thread: Gophers Lose Disappointing Game at Rutgers

One thing that stood out to me was Brosmer stretching the field mostly in the first half and just missing. I think most or all of the passes were in the correct spot and our receivers didn't have much seperation. Unfortunately, no super strong contested catches today for our receiving corp...

Post Game Thread: Gophers Lose Disappointing Game at Rutgers

I am not detecting a lot of saracasm here, Slab, and if you are being sincere I totally agree. I have learned to enjoy each game and to sometimes give credit to the other team. I think I mentioned in another thread that my pet peeve is when a USC or Nebraska fan says, "I cannot believe we lost...

    WORST offensive line since....

Are we forgetting that the OLine had been playing much better lately including a solid performance last week. Today was bad and you have to give Rutgers some credit.

    Just watched the 2nd half

Maybe Mo Ibrahim could have made something with that run blocking but I would tip the cap to Rutgers defense for playing very well against the pass and run, while also saying this was a poor performance by the Gophers Oline. The outside zone worked really well on that one TD, but I don't think...

    Gopher community in Hawaii

It will be a beautiful place to be a Gopher fan. Hope you can convince a local pub to be a Gopher bar.

Is Walley in the mix for First Team all B1G or am I wearing maroon colored glasses? To my eye he has been excellent this year. There were a couple of completions against him today which has been unusual and they were highly contested.

Corn Nation on Nebbie Loss to UCLA

I cannot feel bad for Nebraska until they get over being outraged that they lost to an average team that is better than them. The fact that they think every loss to a team like Illinois, Minnesota, UCLA is below them is so off putting.

Other than that long td run allowed, I thought the defense played really well. Most of the Illini yards were when the Gophers were playing "prevent" defense which never seems to work well.

    Puke

When Taylor was clearly face masked (non call) they didn’t even catch it on the replay. Maybe they didn’t have monitors in the booth? :)
