Worth noting that Vazquez has a better WAR in the second half than Jeffers. I don't think anyone disputes that Jeffers is the better player, but howeda seems to think this works like a video game where you can turn off injuries and fatigue. Being able to manage Jeffers' workload is important.

Time will tell if I'm right or not, but I never really bought into the Bears hype this offseason. Sure they will probably be a bit better, but I don't see them as a playoff team. Full disclosure, I said the same thing about the Lions last offseason and was certainly wrong about that one.

You play him if it's the best thing for the team, not because he might pout and leave if he doesn't play. I can't imagine a lot of guys who aren't good enough to play here that could walk into the starting lineup at Georgia.

It matters a ton. The 2 WS teams last year were wild card teams. Anything can happen, especially in a best of 3 series. Most organizations have some sort of issues, and flaws in their roster. This organization is in wayyyy better shape than it was before the current regime took over.

There are numerous factors that go into the college decisions of most kids. For many, sports are a big part of the experience. I don't see the issue with having that be a factor in your college choice anymore than location, weather, etc.

I won't pretend to have done all the analysis, but this is likely one of the Vikings' easier games and they aren't going to be one of the stronger teams in the league, so I like the pick.
