If I were either of those schools, there is no way I would accept hosting the playoff game in a completely different state. Sure, some fans will make the trip, but not as many as if it was in your own backyard, so the crowd will be more like 50/50, which isn't fair since it'll never be played...

Yeah, I think they made a mistake with the timing. After NYD, people whose teams aren't playing anymore will be focusing on the NFL and the college basketball season. They might have the TV on in the background though, since it's a weeknight after work and live TV always rules.
