Post-Week 12 Field of 12 Projection: Georgia & Notre Dame Enter the Field; Boise State the #3 Seed

I have SMU because they're the actual ACC leader at this point, not Miami. The CFP just goes by current committee rankings instead of who's leading the conferences.

Post-Week 12 Field of 12 Projection: Georgia & Notre Dame Enter the Field; Boise State the #3 Seed

No. They'll be apprehensive about putting a Group of 5 champion ahead of a P4 champion.

Week 2: Arizona State & Loyola-Chicago on the Rise, While Gophers Still Have Chance to Salvage Non-Conference Slate

Definitely keeping an eye on San Francisco. Knowing that they beat Boise, I struggled a little bit taking Boise (as an at-large) and not the Dons, but this early on I figure that will even itself out. Regarding Richard's Lobos squad, they're still in a pretty good spot early, as long as that...

Week 2: Arizona State & Loyola-Chicago on the Rise, While Gophers Still Have Chance to Salvage Non-Conference Slate

And thank you, kind sir. Full disclosure: I haven't won a bracket pool in a long time, so I'd advise you go with your own gut feelings!

Week 2: Arizona State & Loyola-Chicago on the Rise, While Gophers Still Have Chance to Salvage Non-Conference Slate

By: @Fieldof68Freak/November 17, 2024 Our look at Week 2 of the college basketball season, as always starting with our weekly “Field of 68” projection. Projected automatic qualifiers in multiple-bid conferences are noted with an *. When the NCAA releases its initial NET rankings, the...

Post-Week 12 Field of 12 Projection: Georgia & Notre Dame Enter the Field; Boise State the #3 Seed

It comes down to that I don't see much difference berween Boise State, BYU, and SMU for the #3 seed. And because BYU won @ SMU, I just decided I like Boise State a little better than BYU at this point.

You want a "magic number" for Gophers to hear name called on Selection Sunday? Go with 22

What's crazy is, if they win the tournament they'd actually be ahead of schedule. Not holding my breath at this point.

Winner winner, chicken dinner. Gophers survive Yale to finish 1-1 in Tricky-Dicky bucket.

Post-Week 12 Field of 12 Projection: Georgia & Notre Dame Enter the Field; Boise State the #3 Seed

Automatic qualifiers/conference leaders are determined by "best conference record", hence 1-0 is better than 0-0, 2-0 is better than 1-0, etc. In the event of a tie for the conference lead (Big Ten, SEC), conference tiebreakers were used. Opponents' winning percentage is noted with each team's...

Gophers favored by 4.5 over Yale

Need an immediate bounce back . … and don’t stumble out of the gate. An Ivy League team should not be able to “out-athlete” a Big Ten team. Attack.

Play “Your the Gopher AD”! What’s your move?

Absolutely, positively, 100% approve of this message! And for good measure, schedule Texas State (formerly Southwest Texas State) for the re-Final-Four-banner unveiling home opener, the first team the Gophers beat on their magical 1997 run to Indianapolis. It's time. ... that's been almost 30...

St. Thomas plays that Arizona State squad Sunday night.

Very possible. I want to see how the Gophers respond to another decent opponent (Yale) after last night's eyesore. It needs to not resemble what we saw last night.

Until we stop bargain bin shopping for coaches, the result will mostly be the same.

Money and ego. None of these guys got where they are in this profession without significant ego. They all think "they're the guy" to run or "fix" a downtrodden program.

I know that. I was acknowledging he would be a reasonable candidate if for some crazy reason that situation arose.

Fair point, but I I think "one of us" is only part of the Medved equation. It's true DeVries had a better first season at Drake than Medved did, but is it possible he helped set the table for the DeVries before Niko quickly bolted for Colorado State? 2016-17 (season prior to Medved): 7-24...

Niko Medved is the correct answer. Has been for quite a few years. And it’s fairly common knowledge he’s a program builder but also importantly in today’s climate is he can operate in the gray areas. And yes, I’ll still think he’s the guy even if Colorado State has a so-so season this season...
