True, it is strange. The GM can be hired by the university directly though. The U has plenty of money to spend on a coach or GM, whether they prioritize it or not is up to them, but they have money.

The U and really all D1 college teams now, need to have a GM position.

I agree; however, the money that the students deserve, should come from the money that they generate.

This is my biggest issue with the NIL thing. The NCAA and the universities are making billions, but we need to donate our money to DTA to try to lure recruits in hopes that we can field a good team and make the university more money! It's so backwards.
