    Michigan fires Moore

To any Michigan fan who discovers that Whittingham has the stench of Urban Meyer on him, even after just 2 years, he’s an acolyte. I’m not sure you understand the deep hatred Michigan fans have for Meyer and everything he’s touched.

Indiana has half of those in the last 2 years.

    Michigan fires Moore

Michigan hiring an Urban Meyer acolyte would bring me an unnatural level of amusement.

    Jim McMahon visits Gopher practice

Went to the White House with the Packers (Favre’s backup) after winning Super Bowl XXXI, but wore his Bears jersey because they didn’t get to go after winning in ‘85 due to the Challenger disaster, an idea his teammates blessed. I found that hilarious as a Packers fan.

    Michigan fires Moore

Did you see that cauldron of beans they had post-game? The plane probably had to make an emergency stop somewhere in Tennessee to drop payload.

And Harbaugh left the program in shambles, despite (or maybe more accurately, because of) winning a national title. Keeping that connection is probably the last thing Michigan wants to do with this next coach. I’ve never understood the “we need one of our own” mentality. Get the best guy you can...

    Michigan fires Moore

Word from my Michigan buddy is Jeff Brohm flew to Ann Arbor immediately following the Bush’s Beans Bowl in Boca today to interview for the UM job.

    Winfield 2 Time Pro-Bowler

I sorely wish we had gotten a couple more injury-free years from him. He was an unstoppable force as a redshirt soph in 2019.

As far as I know, this is currently a one-way pursuit. DeBoer may have zero interest because of the situation at Michigan (I still can't believe Manuel has kept his job), or just because he likes his current job and wants to succeed at Alabama. But, if he wants to get back north and coach in the...

I don't disagree with any of this, I'm just passing along what my connected Michigan donor friend told me. But they are going after DeBoer, and getting him to commit now would be the opposite of a panic hire, it would be an absolute home run for Michigan. Does DeBoer want to do that, given the...

He took Washington to the national championship game. He can coach. And who cares if he doesn't have ties to the state of Michigan. That feels like a Minnesota "not one of us" excuse. Did that help Sherrone Moore, or Brady Hoke, or Gary Moeller compete for national championships?

I’m hearing that Michigan is going to wait DeBoer out because he’s the guy they want, and are having back channel talks with his agent. If he loses to IU on Jan 1 they can introduce him on Jan 2 and he can start hammering the portal. Even if they keep advancing, Michigan’s willing to take a one...

2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

Kenny Dillingham is now off the market, and Michigan's coaching talent pool drains just a little bit more. They have to either be waiting for DeBoer or committing to Pogi for an interim year (doubtful).

So what’s Michigan’s plan B for their coach now? Not to be confused with Sherrone Moore’s Plan B.

Does anyone else find it odd that the OU coaching staff clothing has prominent Air Jordan logos all over it, but no OU logos? They’re a Jordan brand school, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a major college football program eschew their school’s marks for a corporate brand like that.

That was a rough last 5 minutes for OU. Wide open receiver dropped a sure TD pass, then their punter flubbed his drop and Bama recovered for a FG, then a pick 6. Turned 17-7 to a tie ballgame.
