Looks like Gophers received a 2027 commitment from Ethyn Cantin (Becker).

Eli Kokenge and Greyson Zach to play with Wilmar in Northwoods League. Unfortunately, Northwoods League is moving their broadcasts to FloSports this season. 😞

I am pretty sure they cannot, as that would be considered "pay to play". I think contracts can have clauses for things other than performance on the field (academic success, no off-field idiocy, etc).

While I think there may be some inflation/overstating on the numbers as others have stated, when you add revenue share dollars and NIL, and are distributing across 85 players max (in most cases), that's a lot of money for some of these programs. I have no problem believing some impact players...

Rate Bowl drew 4.4 million viewers on the day after Christmas; that's the Phoenix bowl game's best number since 2011.

Last year was the first at its new time slot. Previously since returning to ESPN family in 2010, it was a night game with mostly 9pm Central 'scheduled' start times, but three years were at 8pm Central.

It looks like the Gophers series at UCLA April 17-19th is a 'go' to be played at Jackie Robinson Stadium, as a federal appeals court overturns a previous court ruling which had invalidated their lease...

    Gopher Softball 2026

Just in eyeballing it, the non-conference schedule seems softer than last year.

    Gopher Softball 2026

Minnesota @ Grand Canyon, Thursday, February 26th. The GCU schedule lists the game as part of a dual hosting Arizona State/Grand Canyon tourney, but Minnesota not listed as playing additional games on the weekend at GCU, so guessing they will be in Tempe for the other games in that weekend.

Interview with Coach McDevitt from a few weeks ago. The one thing I found interesting was a comment regarding school policy on fall scrimmages making it hard to play outside competition (he didn't go into detail).

Class of 2026 announced. 6 of the top 10 in-state recruits per PBR; 5 of top 10 per PG. Both services have 4 of top 6. https://gophersports.com/news/2025/11/18/baseball-gophers-finalize-signing-of-nine-to-2026-27-roster

    All Things Gopher Baseball

I only made it to a few fall practices. I think pitching will be better. Morton was sitting 93-94 on fastball and touched 96, and looked like good secondary stuff as well. Urban also looked like he had an uptick in velocity. Whelan had a good summer. Other additions looked like they will...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MISSOURI IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Me memory of it was this: It started with an out of control drive to basket by Reynolds. On the ensuing possession, Missouri sunk a left corner 3, and Vaihola was called for a foul underneath on the shot. Mitchell used that possession for them to get into the lane and score with a foul. He...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT MISSOURI IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I thought we played a pretty solid 26 minutes or so, and then things went completely off the rails. There were some promising things I liked. I can't recall a 13-0 offensive rebound advantage at any point in a competitive game. That sequence of three straight cuts and baskets by Tyson early...

    Other Minnesota Football News

The university has secured land and approvals for baseball and softball stadium projects at Highland Bridge, so North Field would presumably be available in the future and it might give them a bit larger footprint if they were to build a new stadium.

Cliff notes summary: - No major injuries in fall - Talks general recruiting stuff regarding Minnesota - When asked for a pitcher and hitter to watch for this upcoming season, he named two each: Morton and Kruzan for pitchers, and Sutherland...

    Missouri game

I guess whether one thinks it sucks or not is a matter of opinion, but I personally find it better than BTN+. Not only is it free (again, if you already get SEC Network), but unlike the largely student-produced BTN+ productions, SEC Network+ (as well as ACC Network Extra) telecasts are...

If you have ever watched Big Ten Network on the Fox Sports app, the process is similar. You need to log into your TV provider from within the app so it knows you have a subscription to a provider/tier for that channel. (screenshots from ESPN app on my phone) From ESPN app, go to settings...

I should add one thing for those not aware: If you haven't done so already, you will need to authenticate your TV provider in the ESPN app so it knows you get SEC Network (and thus can get SECN+ games). Go to Settings -> Manage TV Provider in the ESPN app, then follow the prompts and login to...
