    DeVries is Heading to Indiana

Sounds like McCollum could end up at West Virginia as their AD was a former AD for McCollum at previous job and West Virginia has more NIL than Iowa

All Things Gophers Coaching Search Thread (rumors, tweets, tid-bits and more)

I saw an article last week quoting an unnamed ACC coach who said you need a minimum of 4.5 -6 million for a top 25 basketball roster. 4.5 million if your coaches are unbelievable talent evaluators who rarely miss on evaluations.

But if every other major program has revenue sharing as mandated of 20 million, then revenue sharing is a push. Unless the U gives a much higher percentage of their revenue share towards basketball versus football. They need additional NIL above and beyond that to seperate from other major...

I could see them hiring an up and comer who would be cheap like Chris Crutchfield at Omaha if not Medved

Who will make the best hire and revive their program first? Gophers Mark Coyle or former Gopher Beth Goetz

Nope. He already has enough money and his families lives are in San Diego. At that age don’t need the stress of leaving the beach to take on a rebuild job.

Who will make the best hire and revive their program first? Gophers Mark Coyle or former Gopher Beth Goetz

Not a lot of people in their 60’s jumping to leave the perfect weather of San Diego to move to the tundra.

Five Guys On A Shortlist: If the U Decides Change Is Needed, Aim High & Don't Be Cheap With That Big Ten Cash

He has already turned down the Ohio State job a few years ago and they have exponentially more money than Minnesota. Creighton has some big money boosters whose money all goes to basketball at Creighton since no football. They have averaged top 10 in attendance nationally for many years now...

Transfer Portal so far (UM, IA, NE, WI)

The 105 is a new rule, so teams with huge walk-on programs have to get rid of a ton of players. The days of walk-ons are essentially over now with this new rule

Five Guys On A Shortlist: If the U Decides Change Is Needed, Aim High & Don't Be Cheap With That Big Ten Cash

The problem is no one knows how much of this Big ten money is used up to supplement all these other athletic programs at Minnesota that lose money, and some a lot of money. There may not be a lot of money left over after paying those bills. How many of all the teams at the U even break even?

Five Guys On A Shortlist: If the U Decides Change Is Needed, Aim High & Don't Be Cheap With That Big Ten Cash

Agree. McDermott already turned down Ohio State several years ago when they hired Holtmann. He isn’t going to start over a rebuild now at his age at a lesser Big 10 program than one he already turned down. He will retire at Creighton with his statue and court named after him when he wants...
