This really should have been their year. They had excellent dominating guards which usually carries teams in the tournament. What’s wrong with Gaard?😊

Would a competent staff have had a better chance at drawing Nolan to the U?

I’m sure he’s very busy following his son. Being the parent of a college athlete is practically a part time job if they prioritize being at most or all of the games. I wouldn’t read anything into his relationship to the U by his recent absence.

Very impressive team stat line. Makes me wonder why the game was as close as it was.

More evidence that the tournament should be expanded. Let’s go for both teams shooting 2 25%.

STrib: Former Gophers standout Damian Johnson rising quickly through coaching ranks

DJ is a class act. I’m sure there will be plenty of opportunities for him. Not sure what else he did at Benilde, but there are not full time coaches only jobs. Money is tight and if his “other” job was eliminated, that could be part of the issue.

The Gophers will get some post-season play in the College Basketball Crown! Mark your calendars for April 1st, 9:30pm, against Baylor.

Indiana bowed out before any invitations. Others may have said no, and maybe we passed eye test the last few weeks. We play an entertaining brand of basketball. Also throw in that some of the others may be planning to have depleted rosters. Washington best player is a lottery pick and likely...

They might be “low” on best lists, but high on “fits a need” list. I’d put Durkin on that. No team can have too many shooters, and he’s proven he can do it on a high major level. There will be vultures all over him and CJC if they aren’t already.

Final Field of 68 Projection: SEC Projected for 11 Bids, but Both Oklahoma & Texas Riding the Fence

I had reinforcements back home but the plan was early morning Sunday return. Everything heading to MSP was cancelled from Saturday afternoon until Monday afternoon. Soonest departure is pre dawn tomorrow. With all the extra research time, I’m sure win the pool this year! Many others here until...

I’m curious why media companies hold on to has beens for so long. Clark was done several years back, and while never the star, he could have retired or downsized with dignity. Now, when he leaves it will be “it’s about time.” I’m not a huge Nantz fan, but the guy orchestrated his departure...

Gophers’ season over? Men’s basketball wait and see on postseason options

After the lawyers for the conferences remind the discouraged teams that they are contractually obliged to play. As I recall, the play was pretty good last year.

Scoggins: Gophers are playing host to NCAA tournament games because of trust

Seems very odd to me that alternative venues were not sought out. Perhaps they were but they could not make it happen. I’m grateful to have the women’s team at home, though. A trip to the 16 would really jump start the fair weather fan contingent and boost the program.

Final Field of 68 Projection: SEC Projected for 11 Bids, but Both Oklahoma & Texas Riding the Fence

Well done again! Is the bubble getting progressively weaker every year as it seems? From a distance, the mega conferences seem to be weakening the bubble, allowing teams get relatively stronger Net rating but not being that good?
