The Mountain West is in serious dialogue to add FCS powerhouse North Dakota State as a football-only member starting this coming season

How many championship caliber teams were in FBS prior to portal/NIL? Maybe 3? How many championship caliber teams are in the MWC? None. How many MVFC teams could compete in the MWC? A good handful. 4 different teams have won the FCS national championship this decade. Three for the first...

The Mountain West is in serious dialogue to add FCS powerhouse North Dakota State as a football-only member starting this coming season

Forum reporter Rob Port for one is indignant over the ability of school bureaucrats to obligate the school to spend a lot more money. The contract with MWC not only requires a huge buy in but also that NDSU increase it's football budget to "reasonably competitive" to typical MWC football...

Gophers QB comitt transfering high schools

But the emphasis is on the "lately.". That was how many years ago and while it started well, how did it end? "Hit on" implies that he was successful here. You're moving the goal posts. The original implication was that this staff finds and developed HS QBs in the recent past. That hasn't...

The Mountain West is in serious dialogue to add FCS powerhouse North Dakota State as a football-only member starting this coming season

I'd consider a trip for the Brawl of the Wild. There were arena improvements as well. Premium seating was a big part of it. I think the Fargo Dome has Metrodome style suites that are probably a downgrade from a typical seat. I think a lot of it was infrastructural work like more women's...

The Mountain West is in serious dialogue to add FCS powerhouse North Dakota State as a football-only member starting this coming season

What a weird phenomenon. Is there another college football fan base that grew tired of winning? If that really is the case, the new decade should have peaked some renewed interest. While NDSU dominated FCS and the MVFC from 2010 to 2019, since 2020, NDSU has only won 2 of 6 national...

The Mountain West is in serious dialogue to add FCS powerhouse North Dakota State as a football-only member starting this coming season

The school isn't really growing and enrollment is down from all time highs and demographic trends aren't favorable. ND Board of Higher Ed is notoriously cheap. TCU and NDSU aren't great comparables.

The Mountain West is in serious dialogue to add FCS powerhouse North Dakota State as a football-only member starting this coming season

They've tried to upgrade the Fargodome very recently and the city's voters have said "no."

The Mountain West is in serious dialogue to add FCS powerhouse North Dakota State as a football-only member starting this coming season

I'm sure it's not great. Fargo is a long way from the Bakken and one needs to realize most of the oil wealth is owned by people that have nothing to do with NDSU or even the state of ND (except a royalty check).

The Mountain West is in serious dialogue to add FCS powerhouse North Dakota State as a football-only member starting this coming season

Fargo's minor league Pat Ruesse, Mike McFeely, while a huge supporter of the move, wonders if the Bison fans aren't chasing the dragon. Contrary to belief, it isn't a huge fan base but they are loud and perhaps as obnoxious as they come. Lots of the sycophants are certain they'll be Big 12...

The Mountain West is in serious dialogue to add FCS powerhouse North Dakota State as a football-only member starting this coming season

This is a great deal for the MWC. NDSU is paying $12.5m to the conference in addition to the $5m to NCAA to reclassify. The MWC media deal stinks, and it has promised legacy members no less than the prior deal ($3.5 million). It has also promised a ransom to UNLV and AFA to stay in the fold...

GPL: Minnesota Athletics Reports Record $163.6M in Revenue for FY25

Tell me you have no business experience without telling me you have no business experience. Businesses pay expenses before businesses pay investors. Businesses that do otherwise are soon insolvent and they and there investors are being sued for defrauding creditors. What expenses of the WNBA...

Shama: Contract Extension for P.J. Fleck Reportedly in the Works

Agreed. The U shouldn't be afraid that he'll leave. He shouldn't get a raise. In the portal era, supposed stability is meaningless.

GPL: Minnesota Athletics Reports Record $163.6M in Revenue for FY25

I would guess at a $5 million loss, none of the games turn as profit. Why does WBB get any revenue sharing? Why do we pay coaches high 6 figure salaries? Is that pronounced "icks?" Also maybe consider sarcasm. When factoring media revenue, FB produces 75% of the department revenue but is...

QB Jackson Kollock will enter the portal.

Davis is the California University system Ag campus. Although it's an FCS school, its a pretty big school and has an impressive endowment.

What's the appropriate time to wait before hating Indiana?

I was somewhat indifferent to Indiana FB. I viewed schools like Indiana as a good reason for expansion - add the top PAC teams and play the Indians less. But I love the story here and while we can all bitch and moan about the portal and NIL and all that's wrong with CFB, and I agree there are...

Why not us .... wheres our curt cignetti

I'd say the probability of a donor like Mark Cuban emerging is low but not impossible. Skeptical donors may have previously believed their efforts would be in vain. I think Indiana showing it can be done at a place like Indiana makes it more probable.
