    Koi Perich Transfer Portal

I was talking more about the superstructure. The games are still very good to great and Indiana is a great story, but what we are now seeing is basically professional football. It's no longer a college game.

    Karmo returning next year.

I was talking more about Karmo's potential explosiveness. He just looks quicker than the other two.

    Karmo returning next year.

If he takes the next step, I see him as the disruptor that is needed in the LB corps. More gifted athletically than Baranoski and Kingsbury (and I'm not dissing those two).

Division III Indiana-Like Turnaround: River Falls

Things have really changed. I went to Augsburg in the early-1970s and River Falls was usually on the schedule and it was usually a good game. I think Augsburg at least split with them when I was there. Changing landscape now.

Official 2026 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

It's too bad Prince passed away. He could have been our sugar daddy! Imagine the halftime shows! Downside is he probably would have insisted to call at least two plays a game. He probably would have been bigger on basketball. I think he played for Minneapolis Central way back when.

All Things NFL Playoffs/Super Bowl Thread

Seattle does look like the most complete team right now. What their defense did to the 49ers Saturday was otherworldly. That said, Darnold could lay an egg although I am happy that he has resurrected his career after playing in a couple of untenable situations. O'Connell has his work cut out...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT NORTHWESTERN IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

This season may turn out a bit like Johnson's first (although the brand of basketball will be much improved) in that the team will likely wear down due to a lack of depth. The difference (as obliquely referenced above), Medved has an idea of what he wants the team to do and has them playing in...

Is this a service academy offense????

Thanks. I should have remembered that. Without the fingernail, the Gophers would not have been bowl-eligible and we would have been spared the collapse against Texas Tech and Mason's subsequent firing. Of course, in the absence of the fingernail, Mason would have probably been let go at the...

Black Monday NFL coaching firing thread

But I bet they all had great 40 times. I kid of course, but I am way old and I remember when the late Al Davis was running things and drafted guys like Jarmarcus Russell at #1 (well, just because).

Black Monday NFL coaching firing thread

It's hard to build a team when the ghost of Al Davis is haunting the building. I thought the Raiders would have held an exorcism before moving to Las Vegas. Raiders will still probably base their draft on 40-yard dash times and bench press reps.

Is this a service academy offense????

Was that the "saved by a fingernail" on the blocked FG game or was that game earlier?

Is this a service academy offense????

I loathed the late Woody Hayes, but I always got a kick out of his response when reporters asked him why his teams didn't throw more. I am paraphrasing, but his answer was "There are three possible outcomes when you pass and two of them are bad." In short, if the other team can't stop the run...

    Max

It was almost like after he tripped and his the ground that there was this interval of about a second when all of a sudden a light bulb went off and he remembered he was playing pro football and could get back up. Clearly a brain fart.

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT NORTHWESTERN IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I thought Tyson would be good, but he's a better player than I thought he'd be. When I first saw him play, I thought "big guy who is a good shooter on the perimeter that will make him difficult to guard" and not much beyond that. He's a lot better than that and thus, my career as a basketball...

What Teams Need QBs in the 2026 NFL Draft?

I wonder how long Glenn's tough-guy act is going to sell in NY. It's not just Glenn and it's not his fault that the Jets' franchise is a total clusterf*ck, but I thought his pre-season chest-thumping was a bit much. He's obviously a stellar defensive coordinator and it goes without saying that...

What Teams Need QBs in the 2026 NFL Draft?

Simpson had a decent year, but I'm not seeing the same buzz that the draft experts (legitimate and otherwise) are seeing. If I'm him (and obviously I'm not because he is younger, more talented, and better-looking than I am), I go back for my senior year. There's always the possible downside of...

Agree, but (and maybe I'm in the minority) I don't think Becht is a top-tier QB.

Pioneer Press Article: Besides Koi Perich, Who’s Leaving Gophers via the Transfer Portal?

I think Bryan will be missed at a level. I thought he would play better in 2025 after doing fairly well in 2024. I can never figure out why some of the receivers we recruit don't blossom. I thought Lanier was going to be a very good deep threat but it wasn't to be. Is that a miss in...

I think there is a distinct difference in raw athletic ability. I had to look it up, but Tune's Relative Athletic Score was 9.81 (out of 10). Of course, that doesn't mean all that much. Brock Purdy's was 4.51. I think Brosmer is someone who sticks around for a few years as a #3/Practice...

Max looking pretty good in the last exhibition game of the season. The Packers should actually be fined for the team they put on the field today.
