The owners can lock the players out. And in any lockout, the players will feel the effects before the owners do. I don't think such a concept exists for getting college athletes to universally agree to something. If the B1G tried it, all the good players would go to the SEC, for example...

Or at least sending it back to what it was in the 80's when you kinda knew which few teams actually had a chance, and your team was most likely gonna be an also-ran. Then party started happening and the popularity took off. And now the opposite of parity is happening.

That is what set the college football season apart from every other regular season out there. Those were the AWESOME games that would happen at least 2 Saturdays every month, if not 3 or 4. I get that not all people care about that, but there are a lot of us that do.

Not only what you mentioned, but I'm sure he'll get to be on the sidelines for playoff games, maybe even get to party in the locker room etc. Plenty of things like that that most never get access too. Plus who says they don't paint a picture of his portrait alongside the banner they'll hang in...

Sent them home? Aren't they living on campus? First week of December seems early to be done with finals and on Christmas break already. I agree with the premise though, that they've kinda checked out on the season.

I'm not sure a hard cap is needed. College football had a hard cap at one point: $0. Some people worked around it. I think the better thing would be to limit transfers to one transfer, that's it, and you have to sit out for one season of play. I doubt Daniels heads to tOSU if he has to sit...
