Correct, so you have to adjust on a year by year basis. The goal should be to have your transfers be as impactful as possible and have HS recruiting fill in the rest. For a school like MN, that likely means fewer transfers.

Going forward it may be wise to have smaller, more impactful transfer classes. Rather than taking 3 WRs, take 1 that is more likely to be a significant contributor, identify positions by value on each side of the ball and only pay transfers at the most valuable positions, etc. Initially, they...

Yep, example is the OL this year. While the transfer adds this year weren’t good, the complete lack of success recruiting/retaining HS OL from 21-23 was the killer.

I don’t think MN or Illinois should fire everyone but MN was seriously lacking this season and a lot of the issues, at least on defense, appeared to be coaching based.

Even teams that struggle angainst Blue Bloods are good at certain phases of the game when playing every other team. This Minnesota team wasn’t consistently good at any of the three phases of the game. There’s definitely room for improvement for the coaching staff.

I’d fire Kevin Kane just for the fact that he vouched for the Purdue DT that didn’t play a snap because he hid a back injury.

That should be a very real fear. The entire defense regressed. I’d expect anyone with a shot at the next level to question their ability to make it there as a Gopher if the current Defensive staff stays in tact.

Kid can play. Haven’t seen many, if any, DBs this year undercut a route the way he did on the second INT. He had a great game!

Seems pretty easy to follow to me but thanks for the kind words! Getting up in arms over every HS recruit is a waste of energy. This kid may not even be on the roster in a year.
