Minnesota Vs. New Mexico - Rate Bowl - Media Predictions

I don't disagree that the best players are on the field as starters. And I'm not saying the real studs are behind the starters. There are times when subbing someone in for a few plays would have helped both the starter get a breather, and a young player get a feel for the game and motivation to...

Michigan State is working to hire Cardinals DL coach Winston DeLattiboudere to the same role.

To quote the old man getting stoned in Life of Brian - how can it get any worse?

Minnesota Vs. New Mexico - Rate Bowl - Media Predictions

Fleck not giving some reps to depth players is something he has done consistently. The only outlier I can think of was Northwestern State this year. Particularly at running back, but at other positions as well, he tends to pick his horse and stay with it regardless of outcomes. It's my...

Michigan State is working to hire Cardinals DL coach Winston DeLattiboudere to the same role.

Except the amount of experience the $2MM coordinator has vs. the internship program PJ is running for the top position this year. At some point more money is just more money, but when the pay gap is that large, there is usually an experience gap that goes along with it. But hey, in three years...

All Things 2025/26 College Football Transfer Portal Thread

Did a little digging on the interwebs. There's no indication that the policy changed, nor that it is still in place for Football and Basketball. I'd be shocked if it still was in place. In the day and age of players not honoring any commitments, this step, which was needed in 2014, a change...

Drake Lindsey WILL BE BACK with the Gophers!!!!!!!

Did Drake play like a RS Freshman? At times. Did he overcome some significant obstacles and keep the team moving forward, as you noted? He absolutely did. There are no guarantees of what will happen, but the biggest things holding Drake back are the offensive philosophy, the offensive line play...

    Michigan fires Moore

I heard they were interested in Tony Dungy.

    Michigan fires Moore

He was successful at Western Michigan with Temu Tressel Ball, so he would most likely be more successful with access to capital to build one of the better, if not the best, rosters in the league. No worse than 3rd or 4th in talent. His winning percentage against unranked opponents would likely...

Drake Lindsey WILL BE BACK with the Gophers!!!!!!!

We're going into year three of this experiment, which I learned about for the first time when PJ was brought up during the Vikings game in Seattle. It helps explain some of what we've seen in the past two years. I'm curious if it doesn't change if we see similar results in year 3? Was this...

Mixed emotions on Rate Bowl (ISU regrets)

The year the Alamo Bowl took Michigan State over us, who played Nebraska (Big 12) 2003 with a lesser overall record, but they did beat us head to head and the same conference record- We were rewarded with the fact that they played what was ranked as the worst bowl of the that bowl season, a...

Minnesota Vs. New Mexico - Rate Bowl - Media Predictions

If we show up and play football ala Nebraska, the game will be fun to watch, and we should be able to give some reps to younger players who didn't see the field too much without burning eligibility. If we look at the metrics, decide we should win, show up, and play to let them make mistakes...

The SEC is dominating the Big Ten in ratings — despite on-field parity

Plus, no one wants to listen to Screamin' Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt reciting PR clips from the programs are often at odds with reality, blithering about everything except what is happening on the field, and trying to hype every play and player as the best of the year. Now slap that on "marquee"...

    It's time for a change.

To me, the really poor showing on the field this year (not in the win/loss column) was disappointing primarily because there was zero reason the team that curb stomped Nebraska couldn't have played more competitively for 60 minutes against Michigan State and Purdue. Nebraska, for all their flaws...

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

Agreed. All the reps Drake got in last year's bowl game, even though they were depleted made a huge difference this year.

It’s Official; Gophers play New Mexico in Rate Bowl

They will be the best opponent we've faced in a bowl since Auburn. With changes to the timing of the portal and the fact that they'll be driven to prove they belong, this will be a much better game than our last three bowl games. I hope.

    2025 Bowl Projection Tracker

Only place I see that is CBS Sports, which historically made picks on what they think is interesting - A Minnesota v. Western Michigan is certain to garner more attention than it would deserve. If Northwestern somehow gets the Rate I'm holding out hope that the SEC doesn't fill all its spots...

Gophers 2025 Movement Roster Thread - Transfers, Bowl Opt-Outs, Etc.

Fix the mess on the OL, and a lot of the other problems disappear (or at least minimized). The O line played it's best game against Nebraska. Nebraska were overrated, but their D was statistically the best team we beat in conference.
