2023 MN High School Football season

Mankato West @ Andover should be a good showdown this week. Andover put up 55 against St. Thomas Academy last week, West beat Northfield 42-0. Both top 10 teams in 5A. Will be a great test for West to see where they stack up against a top metro team.

2023 MN High School Football season

They have never had any D1 lineman. Greg Meidl (6'4, 270) is committed to Army. Gage Schmidt (6'4, 290) has a PWO offer from NDSU and getting some other D1 looks. Junior Axel Lorenz (6'2, 280) is the strongest guy on the team and I believe is one of the top ranked lineman in the state for the...

2023 MN High School Football season

Best team in the state is 5A power Mankato West. 3 D1 offensive lineman, WR Smith committed to Gophers, QB to Bemidji State. A few other guys getting a lot of D2 NSIC offers. That much talent for a non metro team is unheard of. Really think they could play with any 6A school

I think this kid is going to be very good in 1-2 years.. He already has great size for a Big Ten Tight End at 6'4 255 pounds and is only a red shirt freshman.. How much game action will he see this season?

    Nelson's Weight

I just noticed today that Nelson is listed on the roster now at 6'2 215 pounds. Last season he was listed at 6'2 222 pounds. I know it's only 7 pounds, but I'm wondering if the coaches asked him to drop the weight?

    Nelson's Development

Obviously the play of Philip Nelson is going to be the key to the Gophers success this fall. Yes, he struggled last year and went through some tough times, but he showed signs that he can be a great QB in the Big Ten. How good do you think this kid can be? In my opinion he has the talent to be...

    Philip Nelson

Kill told Nelson that he has a 50/50 shot to start next year as a true freshman. I think he should, he fits better into Kill's system than Gray or Shortell. Gray is a good runner but not a great passer, and Shortell is a good passer but not such a good runner. Nelson is extremely good at both...
