THAT was funny! While I remember Murray Warmath, who was an Assistant Coach at Army with Vince Lombardi under the legendary Earl Blaik before the Gophers, Coach Stoll is the Gopher coach of my boy-to-man phase.
I appreciate all the time you put in to this SSM. I look ahead to reading more from you.
Fwiw, I think the Gophers surprise the "experts" with 6-8 wins...and personally I lean to the 8.
P.S. I'm fairly new to the GH.
To question if Ruhle is a good CF head coach is either naive or denial. Yet, to say a Fleck Gopher team at 4.5 is too high is either naive or denial. Let me know when Vegas puts the Gophers at 4.5 and I'm moving my 401(k).
I guess that's up to us here...to dissect the little things...and many here do it well... it's been lots of fun reading most of the comments... maybe that's why I'm more excited about this team since the Barber-Mulroney-Tapeh backfield...you guys all help fill in the details for me.
The Gophers are not going undefeated this season but they certainly as hell are not losing to UCLA. The whole vibe around Gopher football is different this year...so many people are looking forward to this season and everyone has a lot of realistic optimism.
The Gophers host all high school football coaches once a year for a no-cost, all-day clinic. My MVL Chargers head coach really liked Kill and his assistants. When we moved on to the Fleck era I happened to see him right after his first RrB clinic. Of course I asked him how was it, especially...
I'm no great football mind but I think this breakdown of Whiskey's schedule is pretty good.
The reporter is hinting at something I've been quietly thinking for a few weeks... that no head coach is looking forward to the Gophers being on the schedule.
From the actual article:
6. Minnesota...
I gotta say the opener against UNC because the Gophers will have to bring their A-game and then we will see what hand we've been dealt...the 4.5 team the "professionals" say we have or the 7.5 Gophers that Homer Sota (aka Arminius) thinks we might have...😁
I'm not a great football mind but in these clips his technique and his fundamentals look off the charts to me. I look forward to hearing his name on the radio from Grimmer and DT.
