Purdue, Northwestern, and Wisconsin seem like they can be won. I wouldn't be surprised at 5-7. Heck, I'd actually like it because it might force PJ to change. If we squeak out a 7-5 record he'll probably think he's doing decent and we'll get a nice, conservative game plan all next year as well.

I don't think the staff can respond though or it would be tampering? AFAIK, coaching staffs can only have contact with other teams' players if they are listed in the portal. Sure, a collective could do that work, but that's slightly different than what you wrote. Plus, would any player really...

I didn't mean they would "pass us" and end up in the next tier. I meant they could get back to beating us on a regular basis and finishing higher in the final standings than we do. Sure, we'd both be in the same tier, but they'd be better than us again.

Don't get me wrong, the Fleck era is waaaay above the Brewster era, but I will give Brew credit for changing things up. Maybe he messed with Weber's development with a new OC almost every year, but I'd prefer if Fleck was to give up on Harbaugh and admit someone else needs to try the job...

Meh. He seems to be fine hitting wide open receivers, especially close to the line of scrimmage. But the first two downfield passes against oregon state probably shouldn't have been thrown - the WR was covered. Just luck that it got completed both times. I didn't see anything special whatsoever.

I'm not sure that sitting them on the bench would give us better odds of keeping them. Play 'em while you got 'em.

Since we're no longer talking Shedeur, I'd add that I don't think 75% of the people I graduated public high school with would have been able to go back, as 18 year olds with a public H.S. diploma, and pass 8th grade in the Catholic school I attended. My 3rd grade book reports in Catholic school...

Nice post! I disagree on Kaepernick a little, as I thought that the NFL just didn't want a distraction that was turning fans out (similar to how they got on Tebow for genuflecting after TDs). But at the same time, there are probably owners out there that might be a certain shade of Sterling...

There is some truth to the bolded. Every time I'm driving at night and I see someone strictly adhering to the speed limit whilst everyone else passes by at 5-10 mph over, it's pretty obvious who doesn't wanna take the breathalyzer.

Excellent post. This part I wanted to highlight. I know of multiple people who had legit asylum claims because they were legitimately being tortured and threatened with death for their religious views. They were given asylum here and rightly so. It's a slap in the face to them and others...

People talk trash all the time on social media, typically when they are fired up. I don't think it's a good sample to take. Plus, it says something about a person to waste their time on social media like that. So I'd think, but I could be wrong, that you're looking at a small sample size...

Can we sell naming rights to just the red zones? Kinda like naming the field after someone, but instead of the whole field and it being "free" as an honor to that individual, it would be paid for and their logo colored into the grass?
