Same as NFL refs. Lawyers, superintendents, teachers, sales person, etc. Both NFL officials I’ve met worked for public schools. I believe Gene Steratore officiated in the NFL and big ten hoops. Pretty sure he was at The Barn a few days after the Minneapolis Miracle.
