All Things 2025-2026 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

For good reason we've been focusing on the pg problem. I also thing they need to find a way to get Berenger some competitive minutes. When Rudy was out Wednesday night the paint was wide open. The good teams are going to exploit the hell out of that. Not sure how they can divide up the...

Agreed. My point has been, despite his obvious deficiencies, the wolves should play him because they should at least find out what they actually have and he should be able to get the ball into the front court without going into oxygen depletion.

Fair point. I was hoping he would show up this year with more bulk to fight through screens. Didn't happen. In terms of the pg mess, the wolves are going to have to pick their poison. Tonight should be ok. The Lakers don't have the personnel to pick up full court.

At this point an average pg would make a nice difference. I actually would give Dilly a chance. It's the beginning of the year and they might as well find out. He's quick enough to get by some people in the backcourt. If Ant has to bring the ball up against this kind of pressure almost every...

Agreed. However, they are a couple of million from the second apron, so the money wasn't there. The only way I can see for them to get a quality pg who can handle the pressure they will see almost every night is to trade one of their quality backups. Naz, DDV or TJ might have to go at some...

Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups arrested in betting probe

It's an addiction. A couple of years ago I read a profile of Ant in online Esquire (I think). He said that he doesn't drink alcohol or smoke weed but he likes to gamble for "relaxation." IIRC, he said he doesn't usually bet more than $10K or $20K at a time. I think gambling is in the oxygen...

Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups arrested in betting probe

As Darren the Greek said, the leagues have made this bed… As I was watching the game on Fan Duel Sports last night, where every other commercial was gambling related, I was thinking about how sick this whole situation is. I used to think the refs were the weak link in the operation but gambling...

It's obvious the wolves don't need a pg. They had no problem getting the ball up the court and getting into their offense all night.

After watching OKC/Houston Tuesday night and the wolves/blazers last night, anybody who says there's no defense in the NBA is a moron.

PP: Six bold predictions for the 2025-26 Timberwolves season (Minnesota wins 53 games, falls in Round 2 to Denver)

The wolves had an incredibly soft schedule after the ASG. The Lakers had no center, so Rudy was valuable. The Warriors lost Curry in the first game plus they are 3000 years old. Then the wolves ran into reality.

PP: Six bold predictions for the 2025-26 Timberwolves season (Minnesota wins 53 games, falls in Round 2 to Denver)

Ant can't do everything all the time. He's going to get worn out. He's not a good distributor anyway. Houston is a really good team. Last night they were having a hard a hard time getting the ball up the court without VV and were reduced to going one on one with Sangun (sp?) and KD. DDV was...

At some point the wolves are going to have to trade some of their depth for a pg. The answer isn't DDV, Ant, Conley or Dilly.

PP: Six bold predictions for the 2025-26 Timberwolves season (Minnesota wins 53 games, falls in Round 2 to Denver)

I watched a lot of the Houston/OKC game last night. If the refs are going to let OKC play grabby defense and let SGA push off with impunity, the Thunder might win 70 games this year. It's more wrestling than hoops. Houston looks lost without a pg. No ball movement at all. There's a definite...

    Taunting question

I preferred that over the Nebraska QB pretending to be Patrick Mahomes. When did that become a thing?

I really have no idea how the season is going to play out. I like the continuity. I think Ant will continue to progress, as will McDaniels offensively. Agree about being excited about TSJ and Berenger. As much as I liked NAW, I don't think they will miss him that much. Rudy will drive me...

ABC suspends Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show indefinitely over his remarks about Charlie Kirk’s death

That's not even close. Kimmel questioned why maga was working so hard to prove the killer wasn't maga. He then went on to mock taco who, when asked how he was doing in reference to Kirk, said he was doing well and immediately pivoted to the WH ballroom under construction. Anybody who saw the...
