Shama: Gophers Football Season Ticket Sales Down Slightly from 2024; third consecutive year of decline in public season tickets

Wow only $116 for a student season ticket? That’s a great deal to see an entertaining team. My son’s at Ohio State was $350, although they do get the defending national champs with home games against Texas and Penn State.

P.J. Fleck hopes for continued balance with rejuvenated passing game

To take the passing game to levels unseen in recent Gophers history, we need better receivers. I love Drake’s arm and think he’s going to be a force as he settles into the position, so bringing in legit playmakers has to be a huge priority for the coaching staff to allow him to reach that potential.

    Week 1 Other Games Thread

After yesterday’s game I got a text from my son, who just started at Ohio State as a freshman, that said “That was the coolest experience I’ve ever had. The Shoe was insane.” Adding to the college experience is why college sports is such a unique and wonderful thing, even with all the recent...

Souhan: Gophers football coach P.J. Fleck doesn’t need to overhype his program anymore

This is all true, but MLB allowed the Rays to play in that absolute shithole of a stadium (and in St. Pete instead of more populous Tampa) for nearly 26 years without forcing the issue much earlier with local and state politicians. Frankly, building a new stadium should've been a condition of...

Souhan: Gophers football coach P.J. Fleck doesn’t need to overhype his program anymore

Here are a few examples of how MLB is poorly run, off the top of my head: With the exception of a handful of large market teams that own their networks, local TV deals are a disaster with the implosion of RSNs ESPN bailed out of its Sunday Night Baseball contract, with its replacement rumored...

Northwestern’s motion to dismiss the wrongful termination lawsuit brought by former coach Pat Fitzgerald was denied today, Fitz seeking $130MM.

His son Ryan is a PWO QB freshman at Iowa this year. He led Loyola to 3 straight 8A (largest school) state titles in Illinois from 2022-24. He's a big, strong kid, but I don't think he'll ever be a P4 quarterback because he doesn't have great arm strength or speed. On the other hand, that sounds...

Northwestern’s motion to dismiss the wrongful termination lawsuit brought by former coach Pat Fitzgerald was denied today, Fitz seeking $130MM.

I wonder where Fitz will end up now. Have to believe he'd be an attractive HC candidate in the MAC, or as a DC at a P4 school. Or maybe he got so much money from this settlement that he's happy just doing more volunteer coaching at Loyola Academy with his youngest son.

Ohio State is barring Dave Portnoy from entering its stadium for the Buckeyes' season opener against Texas, sources told FOS.

But here's my issue with Fox hiring Portnoy at all: he'll now be working for the Big 10's largest rights holder for its most prominent games, and his role, apparently, is to be a Michigan troll. Go ahead and do that on Barstool's dime and time, but to do that when you're supposedly representing...

Kansas has received an unprecedented $300 million gift from donor David Booth, believed to be among largest single gifts in history of college sports

Shooter: Add the Phoenix Suns to the Detroit Pistons as potential teams for Johnson’s next employment.

The reporter was confused. Suns owner Justin Ishbia doesn't want Ben for his basketball team, he wants him to work for his mortgage company pumping out nothing down, high interest loans to seniors.

Associated Press All-Time All-American Team: Bronko Nagurski, Minnesota, 1929

Wow, that defensive backfield is filled with some VERY bad men! Tebow (or anyone else) wouldn't have completed a single pass against Woodson, Prime Time, Lott and Reed. Can you imagine those four in their primes playing together?
